Went to the Palisades Mall yesterday to see this.
I took the boys and met up with Vickybaby and her DS Chris :)

Coming from opposite directions, we time ourselves pretty well and arrived within 5 minutes of each other. We had lunch first in the food court...then made our way upstairs...
Yikes...was it crowded!! A sellout!! Good thing we had purchased the tickets ahead of time, even the ticket-holder's line was very long by the time we got there!!

The Lion King is my absolute favorite of all the newer Disney films. I was very eager to see this on an Imax screen, and as expected, it just blew me away!! It was awesome :teeth: I couldn't help looking over at the three kids every now and then to see their expressions...and every time I stole a glance...they were all just completely transfixed!!

Of course, when the film ended, and the lights went on, DS Ryan stood up and exclaimed "OK...can we go ride the escalators now?" ;)

Thanks, Vicky....I had a great outing yesterday, and got two-thumbs up from the kids on the way home. :) :) :)

I am planning on driving down to Los Angeles on Saturday to see it.

Where I'm going to see it, we get to play the slots afterward.

Yoohoo!

I can't wait to see it! I just wish the IMAX theater in Georgia wasn't so far from my house (it's only about 45 minutes away with no traffic, but if I tried to go after work it would take up to 3 or 4 hours with all the traffic). The IMAX is at a mall, so I wanted to wait until the after Christmas shopping calmed down before I tried to make it out there. I can't wait! :)

Saw it yesterday at Lincoln Center in NYC. Talk about a mob scene - not only was it sold old but the ticket holders line formed more than 45 minutes before the show started. It was truly worth it, though. Everything about the movie was intensified.....colors, characterizations, facial expressions and nuances of animations, and the music !!!!! We had a terrific time -then we headed off to dinner and Radio City to see the Christmas show. What a great day!

It's playing at Lincoln Center??? I should've bought tickets for tomorrow!! :(

We're going to see it there in the morning! I order tickets today for the 10am show. I hope we miss the crowds.

I took my class of 4 year olds to see the Christmas Show on Dec. 4, they are still talking about it.:jester:

We took my DD to see it for her 5th bday yesterday. We saw the 10:30 show (the first one) and we got there an hour early to get good seats. We never could get in to see Beauty and the Beast so we wanted to be there first thing. Our 8 month old DS was with us too and he was soooo amazed at all the pretty colors in some of the scenes...I wish I had a camera to take a picture of his expressing. DD saw it first started and said, "Woah that's BIG!" :) My DH saw it in the theater when it first came out, so it was special for him too. It was so great!

CookieGVB,
It's not in the Lincoln Center complex itself. It's in the Loew's IMAX across the street that they usually call the "Lincoln Center"
IMAX. Sorry if that was confusing.

We saw it in Omaha last Thursday night. Yes, very good! :teeth:
For B&tB IMAX, we had to drive to Kansas City. So I was very glad to just drive across town this time! ;)

Thanks Pandy, but I'll give them the real story.

I had never been inside the Palisades Mall but had driven past it before. Pandy decided the logical place to meet would be The Disney Store. DS and I arrive, and stand "outside" the Disney store. Then we go and sit down at some tables, since the Disney Store is right near the food court. After a few minutes, it finally hits me. Pandy would not be standing OUTSIDE the Disney store. Duh. Of course she was inside :)

After dining on a gourmet meal fit for a King (a Burger King), we strolled over to the IMAX theatre. What a line!!! What a movie.

To top off our afternoon, we needed some refreshments after the movie. The boys and Pandy got Cokes. I needed coffee. I went into a Coffee Bar while Pandy watched the kids outside. All the employees in the coffee bar were wearing goofy hairnets. I couldn't resist. I asked for one and they gladly gave it to me (with roars of laughter). After preparing my coffee to my liking, I came out looking like Ruth Buzzy from Laugh-In (when she beats the masher).

Thanks for a great afternoon Pandy. We'll have to do it again. :)

i want to see the lion king!!!! Maybe Chris will take me this wewekend! Anyone else up for the Palisades mall sometime this weekend?

Nah, no glasses. The theatre in Houston is very nice - so you'll love it, JtB! It was soooo fab - we saw it on Christmas Day, 3:00 p.m. and I cried all through it - just incredible!
