The Lint Thread

:sick:Did you know wet lint smells AWFUL?

We've had some problems recently with our front load washer giving a "draining" error. I searched online and found a page suggesting checking the drain pump filter. I open the washer up, and unscrew the filter and . Oh my gosh, I don't think I've smelled something so bad.

It was full of wet lint that had probably been building up for four years. :crazy2: I did get it cleaned out. DW came to see what I was doing and couldn't stay in the room because of the smell.

The topic of discussion on this thread is drier lint. How dare you come here and post about washer lint. Totally off topic. And are you really trying to say that ALL washer lint smells bad? I'm offended that you would make such a gross overexaggeration. :offtopic:

PS: can you tell me where to find the filter, so I can check mine?

For the record, the name of the thread is 'The LINT thread'. There's no designation there of dryer vs. washer lint. :rotfl: Why are you trying to silence my voice? ;)

Here's the link I used... http://www.justanswer.com/appliance/4nrfv-maytag-front-loader-washer-model-xxxxx-xxxxx.html
This is for Maytags.

Good luck!

We just had white fluffy cloud lint. Of course, it was after a load of whites.

Have all different colors--pink, red, teal, blue, gray (black jeans) and even some orange. We have a happy rainbow lint fairy!:rainbow:

I agree with that. Don't get much lint, but boy does our washer have hairballs!

With all the dryer lint I collect in this house, I'm amazed our clothes are still able to be worn. I'd think they'd all be worn out after a few washings! So where does that lint come from (it can't ALL come from belly buttons!)???

Totally agree AND made me gag! I'm reporting the washer lint person.

Let me just say...if we were to line all our lint up in a row my lint would be the most colorful, fluffiest, and sometimes filled with tween girl clothing sparkles! I also have the most because I do laundry...every. Single. Day!:rotfl::laundy:

What a timely thread. Doing laundry today and missing my kids school days. Both in college now.

So I will date myself and my lint: way back when you used to get a hamper with diaper service. Still have mine, next to the dryer and I fill it with lint. Empty when full. Yeah I take my lint out maybe twice a year.

And does anyone else get lint in the rafters? How does it fly up there??:crazy2::p:scratchin
