Our "Magical Disney Trip" Part 2
We had our own "Magical Gathering"
We had four families get together :
1. me (organizer and planner), DH, DS#2 17yrs old, and 2 of DS's friends - Fort Wilderness
2. DH's sister (SIL), her husband (BIL), and their 4yr old daughter (niece) - Fort Wilderness
3. My Mom and my step-dad - Off-site
4. DS#1, his wife and my 2yr old grandson (Graham) - All Star Sports
Day 5 - June 16
DH woke up several times during the night with stomach pains. About 8:00am, we went to the house phone at the comfort station and called the number for Florida Hospital Centra Care. A CM came to the campsite to get the necessary info and sent for the paramedics. The paramedics thought it was probably a stomach virus and suggested he could either have the Florida Care Service pick him up and take him to their clinic to be checked out, or DH could drive to the hospital, or they could call an ambulance to take him to the hospital. We toke option 1. I stayed at the campsite. DH called about 2 hrs later and said they were taking him to hospital just to make sure it was not gall bladder stones. The doctor checked him out there and did not think he had stones. The doctor felt it was a gastrointestinal virus or possible gall bladder attack without stones. DH was feeling better. Florida Hospital Centra Care picked him back up at hospital and brought him back to FW. SIL and I monitored everything he ate for the rest of the trip. I had purchased E-tickets for the teens. They had gone to AK earlier, came back to take naps in the air conditioned camper and eat before heading out to EPCOT for a little while, then going to MK. DH rested the rest of the day. By early evening he was feeling a lot better and we went to the beach to watch the fireworks. My parents decided they had had enough of Summer Disney and were going to explore other things in Orlando. We talked several times during the week on the phone. DS#1 and family were supposed to drive home on Thursday, but decided to drive back Wednesday night instead. They had a safe and uneventful trip home.
Day 6 - June 17
We woke up about 7:30am and made coffee. SIL came over about 8am and we decided to make breakfast together. It was really nice to have them right beside us. After breakfast, we got ready for EPCOT. Before we left we had the teens move from the tent to the camper. Since it was about 3am when they got back from ENight, we knew they would sleep in. We rode the bus to TTC so that we could ride the monorail into EPCOT. This is the best way to see EPCOT the first time. We headed straight to TestTrack for fastpass and then moved to MissionSpace. DH and BIL rode this while SIL, niece, and I waited. I had spent one day at EPCOT in March while I was on a business trip and was able to ride it twice then. After they finished, they agreed that it was GREAT. We went to Universe of Energy and walked straight into the pre-show. My niece was afraid of the Dinosaurs, but we tried to calm her by naming them as we rode by them. We headed to the Land and rode the boat ride. By now we were getting hungry, so we ate there. We left the Land and went to Journey to Imagination. I love this ride. After the ride I bought my niece the little figment. We headed back to TestTrack for our FastPass time. Then we headed for WS. First stop was Mexico. We went right on the boat ride. After the boat ride, I brought out the kids passport I had bought in March for my niece. We went to the kids station and she had her book signed. I asked SIL about making a mask and she said she would skip that part. We went to Norway and started to get in line for the boat. I was afraid niece would be scared. She did not want to ride and said she really needed to go to the bathroom. SIL, niece, and I left the line and took a bathroom break. Then we went into the store to wait for DH and BIL. BIL had nieces book, so I suggested she color a mask. That worked great and it only took about 15 more minutes for DH and BIL to join us. After that we went to each country with book and mask. In the American pavilion we took a break. DH had ice cream and SIL tried her first turkey leg. She said it was very good. It must have been because she did not want to share. BIL had been to Germany last year on a business trip and really liked a certain type of chocolate bar. He found just what he was looking for in the Germany Pavilion. In Canada, I bought some Maple syrup for DS#2. Boy, pure Maple syrup from Canada is expensive but DS#2 says it is the best! I also tried my first beavertail. It was very good, but messy. We left the countries and headed to the Living Seas before it closed. The new Nemo exhibit is cute. We walked all the way around the tanks looking at the fish. There were several divers in the tanks. We left the Living Seas and headed toward the front to leave. We were exhausted but happy. The teens took the day off from the parks. They went to the Dashboard Confessional concert at House of Blues later in the evening.
