As I look around the LIMA BUD HUT , I see a number of members I think I should introduce to you.

LUCY LIMA BUD, our founding member. Lucy is tall as a bean pole. Her growing habit is so beautiful! She graces our table slathered in butter and occasional bacon bits. A real star! She's also a wonderful team player....unbeatable in a thick, hearty vegetable soup! I love LUCY LIMA BUD.....

PINTO PETE BUD is our southwestern bud. He is a round bean...and is a favorite in chilis across the Texas panhandle. He is plump, fleshy, and totally delightful. We love PINTO PETE BUD'S contribution to the TEX MEX culinary scene!

TINA CANNELLINI BUD is our Tarantella Italian dancer whose starring role always includes garlic and pasta! She's a versitile little thing.....pasta fagioli was made for her tenderness. She's meltingly soft....totally captivating in any dish that requires a melding of flavors!

FRIJOLES FREDDY BLACK BUD!!! is next on our list! Now there's a guy that inspires! He's small, dark and oh-so-ethnic! He mixes right into most Brazillian dishes and loves to dance the Cuban cha-cha at any civilized table! Not for the faint-of-heart or palate! Three oles for FRIJOLES FREDDY BLACK BUD!!!

MAISY NAVY BEAN BUD!!! She's a bud for all palates! She is small and dainty...and she's most comfortable in soups. She actually has a starring role in MAISY NAVY BEAN BUD SOUP!!! She's fed millions forever! Three cheers for MAISY NAVY BEAN BUD!!!

So there you have it! Our starring BEAN BUD Players!

WHO GRACES YOUR TABLE???? DO YOU HAVE A FAVE??? INQUIRING LIMA BUD HUT BEANIES NEED TO KNOW!!!!

I don't mind Pete, Tina, Freddy or Maisy, really it's just Lucy I don't care for. :p If she's in my soup, fine, I can handle that, but I'd never bother to buy and cook her myself. Even as a kid, I never liked them (and I'm not a picky eater!), but it was the old....eat everything on your plate, or you don't leave the table...kind of situation ( ), and I guess I just never grew to enjoy them.

White Wendy Pea Beans (can you read that? :p ), are what I use for my home baked beans. You have to soak them overnight, and cook them slow and low, for fabulous baked beans! :)

A lima bean fan I am not. But I just have to know.... did you make up those names or are they for real?

Don't you just hate it when you have to explain things to the slow ones of the group! :jester:

Hey! Kinda on topic but totally off of it...I used to drive a PETER PINTO BUD ... um, I mean a Peter Pinto Car!! It was red too. While we called it Peter Pinto, DH (then boyfriend) called it the battering ram because my sisters and I all had, umm, "encounters" while driving it.

It kinda looked like a lima bean too, if you use your imagination (just like Figment tells us to)! Thanks for the memories.

Double post. Can't delete. Don't you just hate it when that happens?
