Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

The turkey is stuffed and in the oven, the rolls are rising, and my pies are all made! I'm going to curl up with the newspaper and scope out the BF ads. I'll probably be up and out the door at 4:00am with the other crazy shoppers tomorrow.

Have a Happy Turkey Day! We have a lot to be thankful for, like a new president on the horizon!

Just a quick check in with my favorite Peeps on the DIS. Hope you all are surrounding by loved ones, good health, and great eats! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!


Turkey is in the oven, garlic is roasted for the mashed potatoes, the girls are decorating their mini trees that my friend gave to them, I am drinking a Pinot Grigio spritzer and all is well in this liberal home.


We truly have so much to be thankful for this year and in the next 4 years.

It was a stress-free holiday 'round here. Went out to eat with my parents hours ago, took a nap & got some more presents wrapped. My in-laws are almost 3000 miles away and I've never been happier to be in FL than I am today, knowing that things would be very tense at that holiday meal.

LOL! Nope, I'm not boyfriend shopping. Reminds me of when I got invites to parties when I was in college. BYOB meant "Bring Your Own Boyfriend."

OK....My wife broke her leg on tuesday, so my thanksgiving has been a bit of a hactic day....however, that broken bone has saved me hundreds of dollars as my wife is out of commission on "black friday"!!!!

I am up with my 4-year old, who is glued to The Wiggles. I made some fresh coffee and may or may not have added a little splash of Kahlua in celebration of staying home from the black friday madness.

Here's an impressive-sounding statistic, even if it's mostly an artifact of population growth. Barack Obama's victory margin from November 4th now stands at 9,124,522 votes, and will probably grow a bit more once states like Illinois, New York and California finalize their counts.

9.1 million vote and a 7% margin of victory means that President Elect Obama does indeed have a mandate to lead. bush 43 claimed a mandate with a mere 3 million votes and 2.5% margin of victory.
