So, do any of you have your little aprons on in anticipation of cooking for Thursday? Or are all you no-good liberals eating Tofurky?

By the way, I've had Tofurky. It is truly awful. We have a vegetarian who visits every year so I try to make her something special. This year it's gnocci with a wild mushroom cream sauce.

All the wild mushrooms were lovingly picked by hipppies, who traded them with me for some herbal tea and homemade beads.

Just barely. Honestly, I've found that I eat almost nothing on Thanksgiving day because I'm cooking all day. I'm trying to change that, though.

Also, my grandparents were farmers and I grew up in a very rural area. I've seen worse. I know, it's shocking--liberals who farm!

What I find so astonishing is they think THEY are on to something! Like Karl Rove wouldn't be all over something as obvious as that!!!

I have no clue what I'm eating for Thanksgiving.

I live 150 miles north of my mother and sister and we always have to drive in and rent a hotel room. My sister usually has it, but her house is a wreck with her downstairs bathroom is being remodeled. We were going to rent a hotel room with an 8-person conference table and "cater in" by buying the Thanksgiving package from one of the local grocery stores (cooked turkey, sides, etc). I was waiting for an OK from my family since the hotel room was about $70 more per night than what we could get on Priceline and I wasn't going to rent without an OK! By the time they got back to me the the price of the room went up $25 per night. So, we're now planning to eat at a restaurant that my sister found.

What I find so astonishing is they think THEY are on to something! Like Karl Rove wouldn't be all over something as obvious as that!!!

I'm imagining them all with their Sherlock Holmes caps on, magnifying glasses in hands....prowling the darkest corners of the interwebz for evidence.

I grew up on a farm. My parents were liberals in the 50s when being a lib was like being a commie. But I did get to meet a lot of union organizers and a few pretty famous folk singers.

The good thing is that you will all be together! Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. It's about family and friends being together.
