Maybe someone could explain why being in the Presidents cabinet is better than being the Gov. of a state? I can understand State and Defense but the other ones not so much. I'll bet Christy Todd Whitman is sorry she took the job.

Maybe because Richardson can't run for governor again, although we'd love to keep him around (he won his last election by the largest percentage in the history of our state). This is his 2nd term, so he would be finished in two years. With this new position he has 4 to 8 more years of being in a position where he can continue to make a difference.

Those were my thought as well.

Richardson has been an absolute asset to our state.

But, he has experience. He will be a wonderful wonderful add to the administration.

I looking forward to President Elect Obama's public announcement of his economic team today. That public announcement plus his radio address should help calm the markets.

The people who still hold out hope that bush will be judged kindly by history, are the same people who think Mccain can still make a comeback!!

There was a survey of current historians who ranked bush as one of the worse presidents in history by a large margin. These are the people who will be writing the initial history and bush will judged accurately as a failed president.

Just checking in to say....Man, I'm so glad Obama's coming in to office. I think that every day, and I wasn't even a Obama supporter at the beginning!

Also, I think bringing in Clinton shows how confident he is. I'm so glad she'll have that role...it's high profile and she's an excellent representative of the U.S.

(Just imagine how depressing it would all be if John McCain were trying to take over at this juncture!)

And THIS is the problem with term limits. While it makes sure the bad ones can't hang on forever, it also means you can't keep the good ones, either. The only term limits should be elections, IMO.
