Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to ask everyones opinon on the crowd levels during late Janaury/ February. Im going over to America for 3-4 weeks and spending 10-13 nights in New York and then 13-14 nights/days in Orlando to visit Disney World, Sea World, Kennedy Space centre, Universal, and the zoological park.

We are trying to decide whether to do new York first and then fly down to Orlando or go to Orlando first and then New York, what is the busiest week normally, 27th Janaury- 9th February or the 9th of February- 23rd February?

Thanks again

Shannon

We were there at the very end of Jan. this year and the longest wait we had was 15 minutes, most times it was walk on...We only used fast pass for rides like Soaring , Toy Story Mania and Test track. So I would do Orlando first!

You will also notice that the resort prices go up around the 13th of Feb, which is when Disney considers spring breaks to began. We always go between Jan 15 until Feb 13 and the crowds are low.

Another vote for doing Orlando first and NYC second.

By doing Orlando first, you'll miss the early wave of spring breakers. Many kids in the Northeast have a winter vacation the second or third week of February (Presidents Week), so you'll miss those crowds.

And by doing NYC last, you'll miss the coldest part of the winter. Yup, it's going to be cold, and you'll probably need a coat. But chances are, it won't be frigid cold. And there is a fair chance you'll get a day warm enough to spend entirely outside.

Happy travels.

I agree The last week of Jan and the first week of Feb is the best time to go

When you say it will be cold at the end of January what temperatures are we talking about?

We are from RI. 50 degrees is not cold. After this past winter 45 is a heat wave.

I wouldn't be swimming or hitting the water parks but I don't think I would be cold in Florida if the temp is above 50.

So what is the typical temp end of Jan to early Feb?:confused3

DEFINITELY go 27 January through 9 February.

The 20th to the 24th of February next year is President's Week, and a school vacation week for many of the states in the Northeastern US. VERY busy and VERY crowded at WDW that week. You will have much lighter crowds for the earlier part of your visit to the States.

I would do end of January. I believe they have some sort of chearleading compitition in February, or at least they use to and it was insanely crowded.

I was wondering what things are refurbed during this time.
Is there any special someting happeing??
We normaly do the right after thanksgiving trip with all the christmas stuff up. Wondering if there is something eles they put in it's place?
Is it much colder in Jan/Feb than it was is in Dec we do like to swim wondering if that is still going to buyable.

Another vote for the end of January. Be prepared for cold weather, even in February. If you have to go in February, go early. Avoid mid-Feb for you will be dealing with President's Weekend which is usually the same weekend as the Daytona 500. Plus you have Valentines, and possibly Mardi Gras. The one time we went, it was President's Weekend, Daytona 500 and Mardi Gras (New Orleans schools are on vacation and many head to Disney).
