I will take all children you all want to send me. :Pinkbounc :bounce: Marilyn=grandma=spoil all kids. :Pinkbounc :bounce: Send them my way. Hot chocolate, reading to them in bed, sleeping with them snuggled around me. I'll take them all!

Awww, Nancy, thanks for putting the ornaments front and center. Glad you like them. :D

I'm glad you guys like the snow village. :Pinkbounc

Italian sausage turned out great! A little "bite" to it, just the way my brothers like it!

I am going to crochet and go to bed.

Night YaYa's. Thanks again for making my day a happy one! :bounce:

Well, I am just sitting here printing fund raising envelopes. I'll be here a while. Yay.

Glad you had a great day, Marilyn!

Elaine...thinking of you. :)

86_123-m.jpg
Cute!!! 'Cept I'm a-skeered of rodents...:(.

Marion...bring them ham shanks over...never mind the glaze...I see our Kim's eyes are glazed enough over Apolo's "meat chops"...have y'all ever been to Denny's? You know the dish "MOONS OVER MY HAMMY"? Oh man, THAT is hammy alright!:p

Oh Michele yes...Ham Shanks refers to the lamp Kim said she wanted modeled after Apolo's thighs(ala the movie THe Christmas Story) to which I vividly and quite accurately, I think, described as "HAM SHANKS"...so now you know.:)

Aww, Jodie poor kid...but the antibiotics should clear everything up before WDW shouldn't it???:(

Beccy everytime I see you post ...I swear I think its MJ...:p:p!! Yes pack up the kids to Marilyn's and she will whip 'em into shape...she's a regular ol' June Cleaver...with a tank!!!;)

Darnit!:( Karen what sort of performance is it...I must've missed that detail somewhere...Ryan is also a very nice name for either a girl or boy.:)

Michele what meet do you mean... the Jodie/JasonLyons meet? That's going to be awesome!

Elaine...I say go minimalist with the tree...it'll be beautiful in its simplicity...the smell of pine, the clean outline...only the pure essence of TREENESS. :)

Oh Nancy, a gift for a 20 yr old girl...let me get my list!!! (not that I'm 20 but I have the maturity level of someone 16 or so, so it should all average out. ) She's an athlete right...what does she like/do...maybe one of those big balancing balls? A book-there're dozens I'd love to get. A cute makeup set thingy from her fave makeup/skincare place-Stila/Origins/Prescriptives/MAC/FACE(try gloss.ccom for ideas). Watercolor pencils and sketchbook? Cute hattie-not the limegreen one :p-for skiing, with little tasslies? Something for her dorm room...lamp or bean bag (maybe Urban Outfitters/Anthropologie has a site)...ok I'm boring everyone so pm me if you want...I could go on and on...:)

Does that include me and Michele?:p:p

Keep going :teeth:
remember....not much room. She has tons of athletic equipment. She plays soccer, tennis, runs and crew (school team for that...which supplies her with shorts, warm ups, sweats and shoes :teeth: good deal, eh?)
Doesn't do art....well, she does crafts and has a ton of that stuff....(we got very creative in storing things, believe me).
I already got her bath and body stuff....she doesn't wear makeup.
Getting harder, eh???? :)
I did get her a knitted hat at WDW.....says "Grumpy" on it :teeth:
She has a bean bag chair stored at a friends...she has a papasan chair in her room.

Ummm....if you are boring people...they can skim ;)
I'm thinking maybe a bracelet? Small and can be expensive or not....I'll have to look around.

How about a book idea for a 23 year old male......I'm thinking S. King.....he has a list but it's all mail-order and I think it's too late.

Gotta go cook dinner.....yes, I'm relenting tonight ;) DH actually helped with the tree today :teeth:

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I'll have my hot chocolate with some kahlua, brought a bottle and willing to share :)

It's gonna take me a while to 'get' all your names (you all have 2!!) but wanted to say that Christmas village is gorgeous! I've painted many buildings but always give 'em away. One day will have to make my own village I guess.

BTW...my glazed ham turned out pretty good. Didn't cook it quite long enough though and was a bit cold on the inside (it was a pre-cooked one so who cares right? LOL) You'd never guess I've been cooking for 20+ years huh.

And for the one with the bare tree...I vote leave it! I almost did...lights, an angel....what more do ya need?

Hi Marion. Welcome!!

Elaine my dear, how are you doing? I have thought about you all day. I hope those furbabies are giving you extra snuggles!!!

No advice for gift Nancy, sorry. I'm still in the Barbie, Nancy Drew books and disney movie stage.

Our family room smells like evergreen! mmmmm......tree is up. We're almost ready!! After tomorrow's GS meeting, I am on holiday from any outside responsibilities until the new year!:bounce: First time that has EVER happened as an adult!!!

How's David doing Jodie? Poor boy. {{hugs}} for him and his mom!

I love the snow village and the ornament!!!

Early night for me Ya Yas...been up since 3am...and I look it! Ugh! Still did the bike thing for 30 min tonight....its harder when you're exhausted. Hope my little guy sleeps tonight...the Motrin helps...and Jeannie, he should be ready to roll by Disney time...its his sister I worry about. She should get this in 3 or 4 days! I have forbidden them to be in the same room together!!! Hee hee!
Night ya'll...hope everybody sleeps well. See ya'll tomorrow!

Hi Jennifer! You sneated in ahead of me. Glad your tree is done and you see the responsibility light at the end of the tunnell!!!! David feels pretty rough. Hopefully one more day on antibiotics and he will perk up some.

Ahem.....
Did you guys look? Did you see"
We are on page 73!!!
Given any thought to our new home?
Where next is it we will roam?
We just might move before I leave for "Mickey"
That way I could be sure my room is not icky!!!

Night again!!!
:teeth:

Umm......I know I probably missed someone, but that's the gist of most everyone. I think!

UGH... I have been trying to play catch up with you all but the boards keep getting very slow for me whenever I start here I can't see this thread :( So if I miss something I am sorry...

Cute ornament! I love it!!!!

Gift for a 20 year old? Well you'd think that I would have a great idea being 25, but I don't. My thought would be a gift certificate to a sporting store... that way she can get something she really likes or needs. I think money or the like work well for 20 year olds :)

Marion, trust me you are doing just fine with cooking... stick around and you'll hear how wonderful your ham was... especially compared to some of us and our lack of cooking abilities :teeth: The ham did sound good though!

I did get extra snuggles today from my furbabies... but I think that it was because it was cold. Honestly I am doing much better today than I was doing yesterday and the day before... who knows why.

Good night Jodie!

I hope I didn't miss too much in this... I need to hurry up and get to bed too. Just need to relax before digging into work tomorrow. I need all the sleep I can get to get through it because I have no motivation knowing I only have 5-6 days of work left this year :teeth:

{{{{HUGS}}}} right back at ya Michele!:)

Now my sleeves are rolled up Nancy!

Karim Rashid's thermoplastic chess set and more can be found @www.urbanoutfitters.com.

Ohh I'm short on time...so can't do a full blowout pictorial...how about one of those cookbooks for students ie:The Healthy College Cookbook: Quick, Cheap, Easy or THe Starving Students Cookbook...and then throw in a hotpot and a heating coil:teeth: (good for student travel!)
For your son...I just bought Nick, Thomas Steinbeck's Down to the Soundless Sea... books are so personal...may not be what DS likes. What about an ASian cookbook (ie THe blue ELephant or something hip like that) and a wok + accoutrements for him or her?
Or if this is a supplemental gift for her- scrumptious goodies of the month type clubs shipped to her dorm(popcorn of the month, cookie of the month etc)?
Oooh...or maybe a mag subscription...a mag she might find interesting but wouldn't normally get for herself?
Or jewelry is a greatgreat idea...something sleek if she's a modern sort of girl or maybe antique if she's frillier.:teeth:Or even a beautiful antique-y hairpin or hair accessories?
Or a gorgeous scarf...
Candles and some sort of hip candleholder?
Travel accessories? OR camping stuff...LED headlamp? Hiking poles? Ice skates!!!!
Perfect white t-shirts from Petit Bateau(I'm going nuts here!!!:p)?
Shampoo and body lotion of a new fragrance...something young and light.:)
Pretty robe? Pretty embroidered slippies?
Swatch watch?
Photo ALbum or frame...
New Cell phone...
Remote Control Cars (so she could meet boys  )

I'm pooped...I gotta go...:) Good Luck!

Oh hey good night everyone off to sleepyland..and thanks for bringin' the ham Marion...don't worry about the names...just go for it...and if you feel neglected pout and stomp...I know not graceful...but we don't judge you here...we just tease and torment!:teeth:

Jeannie Ryan had a choir concert tonight. We made before 7:00 so we were okay. It was the same concert they did last night but tonight we got to stay to watch the whole thing. Truely marvelous.

Geez, I wanna be on your shopping list Jeannie! All those sound great to me!

Karen, glad you enjoyed Ryan's concert. Sounds wonderful!

Elaine, it is strange the way things work out isn't it? I am glad you are feeling better today! ((((HUGS))))

Jeannie,......I'm coming to you for every occasion! Wow!!
I love the chess set.....but not her thing. DS ....yes, but he wouldn't like the colors
I like the wok thing for him. He will someday have a kitchen (another  ).....you don't want to know what he has now :(
I did get her a watch, a photo album and cute jammies.
She just got a new cell phone :(.....after hers being stolen.
And I did get them all those little remote cars.....fun, eh?
Candles.....she is the one that introduced me to Yankee!! LOL....
Thanks, I appreciate all the great ideas.
I'll let you know what I decide. I have most of it done, I just needed a last thing :)
Sleep well.

Whew! One more day of Christmas shopping under my belt. I wonder if it's possible to buy this kid ANYMORE Star Wars stuff?!? Everywhere we go he sees more SW paraphernalia that he just has to have. Thankfully he's more or less out of the toy phase... it's usually books, which is cool.... don't mind buying those. While at WDW, he saw the ultimate STAR WARS encyclopedia he wanted soooo bad! Well it weighed like 1000 pounds and cost approx. 50.00. I really didn't want to lug it home, AND figured if it was 50.00 at Disney it'd probably be less at B&N. Well, it wasn't. But... at least they had it, so I'm happy. :teeth:

Hey, I see Marion made it over to the ski lodge!! Yay!!! Welcome!!! There are plenty of rooms, so find one you like and make yourself at home! Oooh... I like Marion!! She brought Kahlua... I'm hangin' with her from now on! :p Don't worry about remembering names... you'll get'em all soon enough. :)

Awwww.... you found out about Chunky!! Hee hee!! :p

Marion...bring them ham shanks over...never mind the glaze...I see our Kim's eyes are glazed enough over Apolo's "meat chops"...
Who me!?! :o By the way.... I'm getting my heart set on that lamp for Christmas... sure hope someone remembers. :teeth:

MAC makeup!! Gasp!!! Love it!!! Keep going with the Christmas ideas Jeannie!! :teeth: You've got some great stuff listed there!!

As I was reading along, doing my usual ketchup... I noticed that we've been missing several YaYas for awhile now! No Pam, very little of Bonnie and Betty, no Jay, Sherry, Carol, Todd or Beth. :( I miss ya'll! :(

Jodie, how is David feeling now? Poor little guy. :( It must've been hard having all that fun going on in the garage without him. :(

Jennifer, still LOVING that siggie of yours!! ....and Jeannie... well, what can I say about yours?! Mwahahaha....
a_smil09.gif

My tree still isn't up. :( I asked Tom to get it set up while I was in town today and said that I would decorate it when I got back. READY!!! AIM!!! CHEETO!!!!

Hehehe Kim, It's been a cheeto-torpedo weekend!!

I know Carol was away all weekend....party time with lots of cakes in Germany.

I just posted my dining report from the trip if anyone is interested. You can tell my priorities :teeth:
Gosh...we ate a lot!! I love Disney dining.

We have so many talented kids among the YaYas...I'm glad the concert was so magical for you Karen!

Ohh Jodie I hadn't thought about DD catching it too...:(...maybe you'd better pack her off to Marilyn's with me, Michele and Beccy's kids.:)

Poof ...Cheeto dust! Rats you already knew about that silly nickname...;). I know, many Yayas MIA...:(.

Nancy I'm going to go find your Dining Reviews...what did you think of the ASMo actually? And where si the other s stay...I wonder where Beth stayed and what se thought of it? And the Swan...did you like it Kim? Location etc?

The ASMo was okay.....not my first (or second choice). DH wanted to try it, but frankly....never again.
I did get all my room requests, so that was nice.
And.....we were hit....with CHEERLEADERS!! Lots of them.
It is a simple, NO frills place.
It will be back to moderates for us.
And....DS is staying at Movies, so I hope he likes it. Of course, he has no experience with any Disney resorts, so he won't know any better. :teeth:
But IMHO....any Disney resort is better than offsite.

Rats you already knew about that silly nickname....
:p Yeah, I did... sorry 'bout that. :p Actually, I think they mentioned it during the Olympics. Oooh! Oooh! Idea forming... Jeannie's siggy with various Apolo tidbits for Kimmy. Hmmm... I could do that in mine with my different cabana/ski dudes too. Eeeeh... this could be fun! :p

Oh that's right... Carol is doing death by cakes. Forgot about that. Well, ok that gets Carol off the hook but that doesn't explain where the rest of ya'll have run off to! :(

The Swan? Ummm.. it was nice! My favorite aspect of it, was location. So convienent to just about everything.... oh, and the beds are... heavenly. :p
