Well betty, I'm glad you asked-I just wrote this to Nancy the other day about falling into and art installation and I'm going to share it with the YaYas:
"My trip home was fairly uneventful...except for the falling into an art installation. It was titled "fireflies on the water" and was in an enclosed room. THe sign on the door said "Only one person at a time" so of course Nick and I went in together.
THe room was very dark, with mirrors above and on all sides. Individual strands of colored lights were hung from above and Nick yells, "YOu can make the fireflies dance" and starts to gently push the strings of lights. I am of course delighted and start to push the lights, r eaching out for the farthest ones when SPLASH!! I'm ankle-deep in water! SPLASH! SPLASH! In my disorientation, my other foot falls in and I start stomping around, arms flailing, looking for "dry land."
I get back up and wipe off the tops of my shoes-feet were amazingly dry, no lights damage, I think-and hurried out of there. Unfortunately the artist-really famous Japanese woman-was right outside and I was leaving wet "tracks"! Fortunately, the concrete floor wasn't too glazed and the water absorbed relatively quickly.
If I start getting too big for my britches now, Nick gleefully shouts,"Splash! SplashSplash!"
