How has everyone been?

Teaching has been great but I have been very busy. I stay around the school about an hour everyday after the end of the day and by the time I get home, check on my two, get them dinner, make them do homework, make me do my homework, then it is 11 and I am always tired. I plan on sticking around for an hour or so or until Dh calls.

I've spent the last 2+ hours trying to locate information online on ancient Israel and Egypt for Cameron. He informed me last night that the outline for a report on the contrasts and comparisons of the two countries is due on Friday. Ok, bad enough that he just told me about this, BUT my biggest complaint is that they assign projects like this to kids they haven't even taught research skills to!!!

Well, I haven't made anyone sick this week. As far as grades going into the computer, that has been very frustrating. The teacher gave me the CD rom to load the program and then a zip drive something(don't know the exact word, could have been win zip) with the class data. For some reason about half already had final grades listed with no data for backup. I thought that I could just put ** for grade and it would wiped out and we would start fresh. Guess what, a child with a 40 average has an A. It is only certain students that are having this problem. Of course, there is not another teacher on this team who uses this program. I can always print the report out on paper and then correct the letter grade because the number average is correct but it is just a pain. I have been reading the book that came with the program. Who writes those things anyway?

OK, end of vent.

Kim, you and I are the bad Ya Ya's but we are very good at being bad. Has everyone but us sent and/or received their ornaments? I am clueless, because I haven't received my ornament yet, so maybe someone else out there is bad or maybe Kim has my name.

Ok, I've read enough about ancient Israel and Egypt for the night. My eyes are beginning to cross.

Betty, Ya Ya hugs dear. It is SO difficult to step into another teacher's shoes long term...having to deal with the grading, recording, etc that you normally don't have to deal with as a sub. Well, I should say, I normally don't have to, but last December when I had a little longer subbing gig, suddenly I was trying to figure out her grading/recording system, etc. Bleh.

Hmmmm....I wonder... is there another bad YaYa out there with your name....or no. Can't say....that would be against the YaYa OE rules. The YaYa patrol would come to CA and kick my butt if I said anything.
