At long last (well, maybe), here is a quick review of the Smitty/Third Day/Max Lucado concert from last night in Dallas.

LOL... this will be the Readers Digest version.
First, let me say that traffic in downtown Dallas is a *MAJOR* pain in the rear!!

I felt lucky I made it down there alive!!

Ok, vent over. On to the good stuff.
The show was supposed to start at 7:30, but as that rolled around, they put up a 10 minute countdown clock on the video screens. So we really started at 7:40. No biggie. Hearing the 14,000+ count down from 10 seconds was funny. Kind of like New Year's Eve, really.
Max Lucado came out and said a few words. Welcomed the crowd, thanked us for coming, read a little, spoke a little and referred to a passage in Isiah (I tried to find it but couldn't remember what it was.

). It was about singing and praising. Oddly enough, the translation he used had the words "Raise the Roof" in it. Hmmmm.... Somehow I don't think those words are used in my Bible. Maybe I just need a newer printing of the NIV, but I would bet those words are *not* used in the KJV version.
Max then introduced Third Day. They in turn brought out Smitty, who sang 3 songs w/ them. About 30 min later, Max came back out and spoke some more. Then Third Day finished their set w/ 15 more min of songs.
Smitty came out and talked about Compassion International.
After a 20 min intermission/set change, Smitty came out & did a bunch of songs from both "Worship" CDs. LOL... I would give a playlist, but can't remember them all. Oh well.

Max spoke some more, then Smitty finished the set. During the last song, Agnus Dei, Third Day came out as he started it, and they finished it w/ him. It all sounded really, really good.

Third Day sounded just as awesome as Smitty.
It's still funny.... It's the first Smitty concert I've been to where he didn't sing Friends or have an encore. Then again, the style of show didn't lend itself to that. Still a great show tho. If you can, I say go see it. You'll love it!!!
