Nancy,
Do you have a program that finds missing or deleted items on your hard drive? I know Norton has one. You could try that! I've junked stuff and emptied the trash and then was able to retrieve most of it later on.

Ouch on the daughter's repairs! My 17 yr. old got her first lesson in car repairs about 2 months ago. She paid for her car all by herself in May (a 1995 Chevy Lumina). Well, it needed freon for the air conditioner and the turn signal switch was sticking - total cost was $225.00. She about died. DH wanted to foot the bill but I was a meanie and made her pay for it. She was all hot to trot to buy the car, I wanted her to find out that it's not all fun and games owning one.
Pam

I do have Norton but am computer retarded, so will have to have DH look......but the recipe program is a separate one all by itself.

Looks like all the most recent ones disappeared....even the ones I typed in this morning :(

Looks like insurance will cover all but $100 on the car and the CD player itself (since we have no receipts for it). She has only had this car since June....a snazzy little Honda CRX....she loves it.
The police told her that there had been a lot of break-ins. One night 30 cars were hit :(

See ya all later!!

Well considering I haven't found a thing for dinner, that pizza sounds wonderful!!!!

Pam, I do wish you could come this year, but I went with my HS Marching band a while back and had a blast! I am sure you will too!

Nancy, what do you use to store you recipes on? I am sure there might be a way to recover them. I just feel bad that you lost all of those!

Well my cat is just begging for attention so I had better play with her for a while!

Wait..I'm confused about the recipe program...are these files you keep on a website or is it on your hard drive????

If it's on your computer you should be able to retrieve them...where're the real computer smartypants?:p:p Don't despair there may be a chance!

Recipes are on the hard drive in a program called MasterCook.

They export looking like this......now I do have to go

Nancy,
Have your DH check into running Norton when he gets home.
Also - this is a little "thing" I am famous for, I will sometimes accidently click and drag a folder and stick it into a another folder. Could you either use your "Find" file or open up all your folders and see if that happened to you?

I once lost an entire newspaper issue by doing that and was too dense to check and see where it went, so I went back and redid the whole issue. :( What can I say, I married the boss - how do you think I got the job??!!;)
Pam

Nancy did you try going to the message boards on http://www.mastercook.com/ yet? Maybe someone there has delt with this and could help you possibly find them back. Unless you have a corrupted file, they should be there somewhere

Marilyn is going to watch WHAT and tell us it's Star Wars!?!?! Oh I don't think so tankdork! *Or am I too late? That was probably hours ago huh? That's what I get for going Christmas shopping....I was EVEN out YaYa shopping. Sheesh.... I get no respect around here, none at all I tell ya. ;) Well, interesting version of Star Wars to say the least! :p *

I got the cutest thing for my YaYa OE person today!!!! It was exactly what I was orginially looking for weeks ago when I finally gave up and bought something else. Well....now she gets two. :teeth:

A moose for the YaYa mascot!? Cute!! I love it! I don't have any moose stuff OR lime green to wear for the meet, so you'll just have to look for the brunette hanging around with Dan and Elaine. :)

Well.... leave it to me to be different. A Christmas Story isn't my favorite Christmas movie. It's cute, but A Muppet Christmas Carol is just so good!!! Michael Caine is awesome and Gonzo and Rizzo as the narrators were just too funny!

Gaston! I love that song! No one's slick as Gaston, no one's quick as Gaston, no one's neck's as incredibly thick as Gaston's.... hee hee :p Hey, a good name for our moose mascot....Gaston the moose. :teeth:

Kim, don't you mean they will have to look for a readhead next to shorty me and Dan? :p

I like many silly & funny Christmas movies (Christmas Vacation, Christmas Story, Muppets...) just as long as you don't say "Home Alone" I'll be happy.

Well this is cruddy... I have a cold coming on :( I've been trying to treat it for a few days now but I don't think I can completely fight it now. Just hope & pray I'll be 100% for DISCon :)

Hehehe....I've also already watched Muppets Christmas Carol.
It is so cute. DD watches it all year long. I think she's about worn out her copy. :teeth: Good think I have a couple more.
We collect Christmas Carol movies :)

Pam, the recipes aren't in normal folders. It is a whole recipe software program and all are self contained within it.
They are arranged in "books" and there are about 40 of them. I usually only use "mine" which are 3 of them.
A whole book didn't disappear just some recipes from 2 of them.

Thanks Elaine, I will check mastercook, but they haven't been very helpful in the past.
About 9 months ago the software did get corrupted and I had to reload it. I lose all unbacked up things when I do that and my back-up files don't have the things that were lost, since they seem to be the most recent ones.

Kim, don't you mean they will have to look for a readhead next to shorty me and Dan?
:teeth: Naw... for the most part it's still brown. It really only looks red in the sun. It's a translucent color so isn't a real dramatic change unless I'm in the sun. :)

Gak! I'm still searching for stuff on ancient Israel for Cam's report! This is ridiculous!! There's nothing out there!! Egyptians were excellent record keepers way back when, but trying to pinpoint specifics on the daily life of ancient Israel!?!? Oh please! Argh!!! This is frustrating! His report is supposed to be contrasting and comparing ancient Israel and Egypt. Sigh! :(

Hey!

Popped in for a sec....gotta tape Survivor today so I am watching Friends. I have to miss CB & WTP. :(

Pam, thanks again for everything. Yes, the pickle got here just fine. :)

Love the idea of a moose for our mascot. And Gaston is the perfect name! :)

Nancy, I hope you get all your recipes back.

I love A Christmas Story too, but my absolute FAVE. is Christmas Vacation!! I love, love, love it!! And, I also like The Santa Clause and Jingle All The Way! :teeth: :teeth:

OK, Friends is on, gotta run!!

Oh Kim, leave me alone... I'm awfully tired and am not awake enough to type right or catch typos like that.

Nancy saying a little prayer that you can recover your recipes.

Can we stop this week I want to get off!!!! Last night was Team Kid and choir, today was Honors Orchestra Rehersal and basketball tryouts, tomorrow is all day orchestra rehersal causing me to be very late for work because its all the way cross town during rush hour and then the parents concert tomorrow night. IMMMMMM TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIREEEEEEEEDDDDDDD.

Been having a rough day today. Its the fourth anniversary of my dads death. Not depressed but more on edge than anything. Everything is kinda bugging me today.

I like the first moose and Gaston is a PERFECT name for him!

{{{HUGS}}} to you Karen... I know that feeling well. I always get a bit "off" on and around the anniversary of my mom's death too. Not sure if it has changed at all in the nine years since she died. I do hope you get some rest... sounds like you need it after this week!

{{{{Hugs}}}} to you Karen. :) It's understandable that today would be a little difficult for you. As far as this week is concerned... breathe deep and just focus on where you'll be just 5 days from now. ;)

Kim thats what Ive been trying to do is to concentrate on our upcoming trip. The only problem with that is I keep thinking of all I have to do and how little time I have to do it in. We will be packing all weekend Im afraid because Monday is Honor Society induction, Tuesday is Field trip to Fort Meyers, team kid, and choir with a doctors appt for me thrown in the mix LOL. Im gonna neeeeeeeeeed the AKL by the time these two weeks are over. I may never leave the room ROFL.

Funny story. Tonight coming home from basketball tryouts we started singing the twelve days of christmas. None of us could remember what gifts went where, we were singing all kinds of stuff, finally got the song figured out then were doing snide comments on the gifts. My eldest pipes up with Well I guess they dont need to worry about food. They will have enough EGGS and MILK!!! We all cracked up and it got worse from there. Such a fun drive home.

Me too Karen...{{{HUGS}}}. I don't know if I can directly relate to what you're going through right now, but about being off and edgy, I hate that too. It's so unnerving; you just don't know how to remedy it.:( Take it easy. Oh and soon you'll be DIS CONNING right? :)

Heehee..funny song Karen! I want to make up my own lyrics too!:p:p

Jeannie yep in a little over 14 days I will be at DisCon for the weekend and meeting some of our YaYa Sisters. We go to AKL from Wed to Sun then leave the following Friday for DisCon LOL.

((((((((Hugs to you too))))))))) Being edgy and off is not a nice feeling at all.
