The Prospector is a place that I never would have gone to if Fran had not convinced me to go there. I'm not sure you would want to go all the way to Long Beach from DL to eat there. But Usnuz when you come to Long Beach maybe we could meet up there for dinner.

I've never really been to any of the places Rachel Ray visited, mostly because I haven't been to those cities.

Its funny you posted the map of fullerton, I lived off of Euclid and not far from Orangethorpe. :lmao:

I wouldn't hike anywhere like that from a trip to DL. But I understand being 'fairly' local and going to it.
As for driving. Many many many Aussies are scared of driving in the US generally...but especially the bigger roads. My mum is still amazed I did the drive from DL to LAX at night in a good time. She'd left a few days earlier on the bus and was worried about us...
You just get into the swing of it....
Our roads aren't as big but the drivers are just as bad in OZ. :lmao:

Sport generally I'm just not that into - especially sports Aussies play. When we got the Olympics I was SOOOO upset. Such a waste of money...and that area is still unused. We were on the backfill fares to the USA and didn't watch them apart from the opening and closing ceremonies
As for NHL though.......if JS Giguere or Neidermayer came to town......I'd be around!! :woohoo:

If I am right he rides in the Tour De France for Bicycle racing.

He rides for team BMC and he won this year's Tour de France. First time an Aussie has won it.

DH and I would take a drive out to eat a real value for money places with quality food. We always drive to visit my aunt about an hour and the half away from Anaheim anyway; so heading to LB would not be an issue for us.

NHL??? Not a blood sport us Southerners are in to. :rolleyes1

Went to a Farmer's Market this morning. I didn't buy a lot...I normally find FM a LOT more expensive than the Victoria Market. Pictures....

Those are some yummy looking Farmer's Market Pictures PIO! I would love some of those kebabs and the corn....I'm keeping under 2000 calories, maybe even 1500, while I'm not hungry, I would sure like some yummy food and not just the rabbit food that I've been subsisting on the last few days.

Anytime you and your DH are in So Cal, we would love to go visit the local dive with you. Besides, it was only a couple miles down the same street from where we had tea last January.

I'm staying within my WW points too.

I had a skinny latte at the market and avoided buying anything else to munch on. Came home and had a slice of toast with cheese for breakfast. I'm having one of those Costco wonton noodles. Reckon I've got another 8 points to spend for the rest of the day; which should be enough for a piece of fruit for afternoon tea and some pasta for dinner (no cheese).

Its a nice looking farmer's market. Really, the prices are exhorbitant there with no difference to the supermarkets. I'd rather go to the Victoria Market.

I agree with you on the prices. Farmers markets are something we always check out when we head south. In the country town Canberra as well as in Victoria. I thought it was just me thinking these sort were overpriced.
But I still wish we had them like you do. As well as the Victoria Market.
It's not fair.
Thanks for the pics.

My Victorian highlight is always Sunnyridge Strawberries

How much do the prices vary?

A lot. I can get a kilo of diced meat at the Victoria Market for about $8 a kilo (2.2 lbs). At the Farmer's Market and at the supermarket a kilo of diced meat is $16.

A kilo of potatoes is about $1.50 at the Vic Market. I'm paying about $1.80 - $3 at the supermarket or the Farmer's Market.

I love checking out Farmer's Market. The one near me is run once a month and only has about 30 - 40 stalls. It's nice once in a while. There are bigger Farmer Markets around...just a little bit further to get to.

I haven't been to Sunnyridge Strawberry Farm since the summer. I love the cafe there and its nice to go stawberry picking. But they charge no different for picking your own compared to getting them at the supermarket.

And there's no point talking about the country town Canberra. There isn't anyone here who will arc up. Do you think I should tell Shuttergirl? :rolleyes1

Did I share my strawberry shortcake related pictures? I got these shots this week for that scavenger hunt...

I only ate the last one. The others I got from the shop window.

I'm still good on my less food diet today. If I get through today, it will be day 2. :lmao:

I'm avoiding all types of refined carbohydrates, so no wonton noodle soup for me. :sad2: So glad I had one the other day.

The tough one for me, is sticking to the one glass of wine. I should feed the cats and go to bed.

Feed the cats and get some shut-eye. I'll watch LAST.

I know I should avoid some things too....but that's why I like the WW plan so much. They don't ban stuff...they tell you how many points it is and you can decide from there what you want to eat or not.

Sleep well. Catch you later. I'll be out most of the day tomorrow.

Those strawberry pictures are torturing. However, I'm not hungry, I ate a boatload of pineapple for dessert.

This is my third full day. I started Tuesday afternoon when the dress arrived and I couln't zip it up. If I wasn't seeing results, I would be very discouraged. OK, now I go feed the cats and go to bed. It's so hard with my little princess on my lap. She is being so mellow, I still have to wonder if there is something wrong with her!
