Well you other link didn't go to yellowtail, and it's the one I looked at, so I look at a few other pags to see what I recognized.
The link is in the post above
Goes directly to where they advertise selling Yellowtail
It had a selection of foreign to Oz wines that are not easy to find here. I'm not sure I trust the Murphy.
Regardless I don't think Murphy is selling in the best interest to its customers.
Are you referring to the cost of goods sold?
If so......Welcome to Australian retail pricing...where everything has at least a 400% mark-up. Why do you think the Aussies race on overseas and shop? Even at full retail prices, retail shopping in the US is soooo much cheaper. The comparison....Calvin Klein Jeans are about US$60......they sell for AUD$180 here....and we get US$105 for every AU$100 exchange at the moment. Why wouldn't we run over to the States and pick up 3 pairs of CK Jeans?
Just remember that minimum wage in the US is about $8 - $9?? an hour; and minimum wage in Australia is about $16 - $19 an hour. Figures came out this week....the average yearly income for an Australian is around $65K now. This includes all the blue collar, white collar, men, women, children, part-time, full-time, mining industry etc workers.
(Might be of interest to you as we'd been chatting about the mining industry....the same article said that the average yearly income for the mining industry in Australia was $105K. That's across the whole industry sector!!!)

last to post!
Why is the markup so high? Is it like that for foods as well? How about energy. Isn't electricity produced from oz fuel?
Traditionally clothing is cheap in the US because it was produced locally. But prices have been held down even while textile production was exported. It's strange. Oz is closer to wear most of my clothes come from.
Cost of Living is higher here in general, mostly in proportion with the salaries earned.
But really, it is also about the population. Australia is up to about 23 million people. There are still more people living on Manhattan Island than in Australia. And Australia is roughly the size of the US.
How's the trial?
