I was disappointed to find "The Land" closed when we went to Disney in January. Next time we go I really want to go when it is open (but not during the hot summer months). Disney tells me it is "seasonal" but can't seem to define extactly what THAT means...when does it close and reopen...
Anyone know?

I was just there last week, and the Land was open. I don't believe that the land is seasonal.....it is open all the time. Soarin is located inside the land, so it will always be open.

When we went at the end of April, Living With the Land and Soarin' and the sitdown restaurant had just reopened after being closed several months for bldg renovation (I'm assuming to build Soarin'.) The food court was due to open the following week. With the immense popularity of Soarin', I can't imagine The Land building would be seasonal!

it was probably closed because they were building soarin. it will now be open year round. have fun!

So that means that the boat ride "Livin' with the Land" will be running! My mother will be sooo excited as she likes this attraction, and she's bringing a newbie with her in April!

yes, living with the land is open and it looks better than ever....
if you like the living with the land attraction, you should consider taking the Behind the Seeds backstage tour......they take you on a walking tour inside the planting areas....it's very interesting...
it only costs $12/person.....you sign up for it at the information desk by the entrance to Soarin....

my husband, 18 year old son and I very much wanted to take the tour....my 21 year old daugther didn't...but majority rules and we signed up, with her grumbling about how she's forced to do things she doesn't want to do...
and guess who loved it???....yup....in addition to the 3 of us, my daughter really liked it as well.....

The Land is a full time Pavillion. It was only closed for the addition of Soarin' & rehab. It's looking fantastic. I really love all the changes they've made to it. With the addition of Soarin' it's probably the busiest pavillion in FW.

So now that Soarin is there, what is gone? I know Food Rocks is gone, but is anything else? I am a minority I know, but always enjoyed the tongue in cheeck humor of that show!

I miss Food Rocks (as I missed Kitchen Kaberet when it left too)

Food Rocks is all that is gone (to make room for the queu area) The ride area itself was an addition to the building.

I have 'Behind the Seeds' tour reservations for January 29th... it's paid for and everything, so I'm quite sure that the attraction being closed last year was just for the construction of Soarin'.
