OMG that has to be the most romantic movie EVER filmed!!! I can't miss it each time it's on tv and I've probably seen it 100 times by now. And every time I bawl my eyes out when he dies!! I wish I could find it around here on DVD.

hahaha.. i have the dvd! as a matter of fact, i watched it twice last night! actually, i like it so much, i think i watch it once every other week! i know i'm crazy.. i just wish he never pulled that darn penny out! he would have still been with her.

the place where they filmed it is right here in Michigan, up north, Mackinac Island. Been there a few times, and have seen the beautiful Grand Hotel, but was never able to stay there, too expensive! you have to pay to even visit the hotel, so i just look at the hotel from the outside.

Somewhere in Time -- One of my dad's favorite movies.

The Lakehouse reminds me more of Frequency, where the son & dad talk via ham radio, and the son is a grown man, but is 9 years old when his dad talks to him -- I don't want to give it away for those who haven't seen it, but it's a good movie.

In the Lake House. She does change history -- the symbology for that are the doves that fly away at the time when the bus should have hit him. Remember him standing across the street watching her, when the bus passes in front of him. They haven't begun corresponding yet, so it's not the right time for him to meet her.

So he waits a total of 4 years for her 2004-2008. It was a good movie.

It's a time warp. In the end when you hear the sound of thunder the time catches up again and they are in 2008, together.

They ran into each other in the past (the party), and he got stuck in a time warp.

Hi Mary Jo. No I haven't seen that movie Frequency, but it sounds like a good movie. I will rent that movie next time.

Anyone else seen this movie? What did you think of the story? Did you guys get lost in the movie just like me?

OK, I haven't seen the movie and I really want to. But now that I read he dies- does he really die- I don't want to see it! ?? I'm confused!!! I saw Keanu on Regis & Kelly (I love him! I don't think he's gay BTW, just my opinion) and he said it was easy to follow so I was like ok, I'll go see it! Now that I'm reading it, its confusing me!!!

Does he die, or not?!! Do they end up together in the end?

Keaunu knows the story that's why he said it's easy to follow. Well.. to me, he died, but at the end, he didn't die cause the girl told him to not look for him and just wait for him at the lake house. Go see it. It's a good movie.

OK, I get the whole 2004, 2006, 2008 thing as explained so ably by Lori. What I don't understand is why she didn't try to find him in 2006,2007 or early 2008. She knew his name and occupation. Why did it take her until Valentine's Day 2008 to find out that he had died on Valentine's Day 2006?

Similarly, why didn't he try to find her in 2004, 2005, and early 2006? Again, he knew her name and occupation, and even met her at the party. Why didn't he pursue her then?

I remember a really good Hallmark movie (I think it was a hallmark movie?) About a man on a train. He went back in time when he took the train.....then he went back to prensent time and told his wife about it and it ended up he went back on the train and stayed. There was another one I seem to remember about a man who mailed letters in a mailbox and they went back in time to a woman.....then the mailbox burnt down.....can't remember anything else but I think he met her granddaughter or something.I love movies about going back in time!!!

She thought he stood her up. They did try to meet, but the date was "after" he was killed... so he didn't show. That made her stop writing and gave up.

Then, she went to the architect's office (his Brother) and found the picture of the Lake House... realized why he stood her up and raced to stop him!
