Everyone gets excited about vacations, dont they? To the Kruk sisters, this isnt just ANY vacation. Were going to Disney World! The best part for Schmebee and me is Petes is going with us! This is our opportunity to share the Disney magic with our little peanut and, most importantly, to spoil him rotten! If he wants that giant Mickey lollipop that we know he will never eat and probably stick to everyone within the WDW compound, he can have it. If he wants cotton candy and a Mickey ice cream bar for breakfast, he can have it. Why? Were on vacation and this is what aunties do!
The plane reservations have been made, the resort has been booked (and rebooked), and all of the PSs have been made. I have started my countdown clock and religiously searched the DIS for information about traveling with a toddler and POFQ. I have read delswifes trip reports (I know, Im a little late) and since were not traveling with my dad and his wife (think Brothers wife minus the sparking personality), what could possibly go wrong?
Murphys Law Yeah, it happening to us. Stuff is starting to go wrong.
We need to find a new resort. POFQ is just not going to work for us on this particular trip. "I" need to find a new resort and fast.
The entire planet must be traveling to Disney from June 7-12. There is not a room to be found anywhere. Well almost anywhere, POFQ has some rooms.
The lovely lady at CRO tells me that the Wilderness Lodge has rooms available. Did I want to book one of them? For more than twice the rate were paying now, I thought NO, I do not want to book the WL. Seeing that I didnt have too many choices left, I called decided to call Schmeb and see what she thought.
Side note:
One of the things I can see about my sisters and me is that we are all similar in many ways, but to varying degrees. Because Im in the middle, Im kind of like Gootz and Schmeb is kind of like me. They, on the other hand, are at opposite ends of the spectrum. Gootz is in an industry where she has to deal with many people, and she can be very diplomatic. Me, well, my philosophy is that life is too short to spend with people you dont like and pretend to like them. Im not an outwardly mean person, but I wont smile to someones face and then say mean things when he or she is not around. I just try very hard not to spend time with these people. Schmeb, on the other hand, just says what shes thinking. Whatever that thing is that supposed to stop you and make you think before speaking, she doesnt have it. She says whats on her mind. She doesnt intentionally try to hurt anyone, but shes very honest. This is exactly what we wanted to avoid on this trip.
So after another round of calls and thank-yous from Verizon, we decided to bite the bullet and tell Gootz whats going on and possibly book the WL.
Will Gootz appreciate all of our hard work? Will she flip the crazy switch? Tune in next time when trip planning takes on another twist!
