The time has come folks, the kittens are 10 weeks old and are going to their forever homes this week. Pooh and Tigger left yesterday, it was really really sad. They now have new names to go with their new homes: 'Pumpkin' and 'Peanut Butter' (respectively). Shenzi was looking for them EVERYWHERE and meowing for a while, but she seems ok with it now. I hear they are adjusting well in their new homes...I probably seem a wee bit overbearing with my advice and protectiveness.... LOL.

Boy am I really going to miss them, each one is so adorable and unique. Rabbit, of course, will stay with us. We are still looking for a home for Owl, but I have a few leads, hopefully one will work out for her. If not, well then she will stay too, LOL.

Here are some then and now pictures (starting with close to newborn, then 5 weeks and now at 10 weeks):

They are beautiful
as they have grown my favorite has changed and now
i am in love with Owl

remind me again besides Mama which are you keeping?

oh and again i just want to say what a Great person you are for taking her in and caring for her and the babies :goodvibes :goodvibes

I just wanted to add, some of them have changed so much. Piglet, Kanga, Tigger and Pooh all seem to have semi long hair...the others have definite short hair (as you can see from the pics). Instead of getting shorter and sleek, they are just getting fluffier (and so soft). Piglet and Kanga seem to look a wee bit like there is some maine coon in them...they have the manes around their faces. Piglets body fur, in particular, is gorgeous. It is white underneath and tipped black. She will be a beautiful adult. Kangas is gray around the neck and the rest is black.

If I get any adult pics of them, down the road, I will post them.

Aw, thank you. I wouldn't have had it any other way. It has been wonderful. We are keeping Rabbit and the mother cat (Shenzi).

My 85 yo great aunt, who adopted Pooh, was widowed a few years ago and has been very lonely since my uncle passed. She called me this morning and was more happy than I have heard her in years. She says that Pumpkin (Pooh) slept with her all night and is so smart (litter trained and knew where the food was, LOL). She actually told me that she feels like she has something to live for now. It made me cry.

My Dh said, "Hearing that alone, was worth having 100,000 kittens in our home. "

(I have taken the role of 'God Mother' to Pumpkin, if/when the time comes that my aunt cannot care for him any longer). She is in excellent health, but I have a feeling Pumpkin gave her even more years.

GOOD JOB pumkin AKA Pooh

my 89 year old grandfather is the same way about the dog
it's like it gave him a new lease on life

Oh, they are so beautiful. I know what you mean about the adoption thing. The first stray I took in that had kittens, well, I cried like a baby when the people came to pick up her babies. ACK! Then I cried again when she went around the house looking for them.

Thanks for posting all the photos. It's been fun watching them grow up. :goodvibes

You've done such a wonderful job raising all of them. Kudos to you for their excellent care. :)

They are all too cute. :goodvibes

So happy for your aunt and I am sure that Pumpkin did add a few years. :goodvibes

Thanks for the pics! Kittens are so cute. I of course am particular to the yellow tabbies.

Did you find that their personalites were more "forward"? Like they were more eager to meet and greet people and get into a tad more mischief? Although all the kittens do, so I am sure it was hard to see that.

Alot of folks I have talked to with yellow tabbies says the same thing. Our yellow tabby, Honey, was such a cat. A worker would come over and you would have to make sure that you kept track of the cat because she would jump in the truck or his bag to say hi.

They are so adorable and beautiful at the same time! Rabbit reminds me so much of my "Whiskers" cat. That's great you've found homes for almost all! I'm sure Pumpkin/Pooh will be showered on with great love and affection from your aunt. I'm sure the antics of a kitten will keep her both busy and amused. Sounds like a perfect match! :teeth:

They are all so beautiful :goodvibes That story about your aunt and Pumpkin is really wonderful too :)

They are just beautiful. Thanks for sharing the pictures with us.

First off I would like to thank you for the wonderful job you did taking these little guys in and giving them a safe haven, secondly I have to thank you for always keeping us updated on their progress, it was so enjoyable watching their growth and how much they changed. I am sure your home will be a little quietier in the coming weeks but knowing they all have good homes is a great consolation. They turned into some beautiful kitties...........Shenzi and you should be real proud!! Thanks again for taking the time and love!!
