Cast: Me, Kelli, just turned 40, Disney nut and major planner.
DH, Stephen, also 40, puts up with my Disney obsession, loves it almost as much (just won’’t admit it.)

Day 4, September 17

We breakfasted in the room today. Not a big variety because our food bag is still in the car, and Stephen is still unwilling to go get it. Maybe tomorrow.

We are headed to MGM today. We leave our room at 8:30 and walk by the pool, and head down the path to MGM. It’s a beautiful day, and I love this walk. We arrive at about 8:45, and head to RnR. We walk right on, then over to TofT, then back to RnR, then back to TofT. This is so much fun. It’s quite a bitter sweet feeling though. It’s great to be able to sleep in, and have no crowds, but the reason behind it all takes the fun out. Well, not all the fun, we are, after all, at Disney World. So far there are no fastpass booths open, and no reason to have them open. After RnR and TofT, we did WWTBAM. We walked right in, and were told we could sit anywhere. After the studio got about 1/3 full, the show started. Our host was so good. She was lively, and a lot of fun. Stephen made it all the way to second place, and would have been in the hotseat, but missed the last question. I told him it was his responsibility to get me that hat, but it wasn’t meant to be. I even gave him all the great hints on how to get in the hot seat. I just didn’t give him all the right answers. I am far too shy to enjoy being in the hotseat, but I don’t mind pushing my family members towards embarrassment. It was a lot of fun, we’ll definately be back. After that we headed over to Muppets. We missed this last summer, and really wanted to see it again. We searched for the key under the mat, and found it! We then wandered over to Hunchback, after taking some pictures on a stoop on New York Street. Hunchback was so good. I’d never seen it before because I had heard it wasn’t the best. Boy, were they wrong. The seating was, maybe, 1/3 full. There was a juggler for the pre-show who was very good. I felt kind of sorry for him because the crowd just wasn’t into it. Between having so few people there, and the general mood over all, he was having trouble getting any audience participation. Anyway, the show started, and it was very good.

After that we had lunch. I ate yakatori at the ABC Commissary, and Stephen had a burger and fries at the Backlot Express. They were both good.

After lunch we headed to Beauty and the Beast. This was another show I had never seen. There was no preshow, which was slightly disappointing, but very understandable. The show was great. I’ve seen the Broadway traveling show when it came to Denver, and it was almost as good.

Then we took one last ride on TofT. I finally noticed the stuffed Mickey that the little girl is holding in the video. It’s amazing how easily that’s missed.

We decided we’d done everything we wanted, so we headed to the Magic Kingdom. When we arrived at the TTC, the smell was overwhelming. The monorail attendants were holding tissues over their noses, and handing tissues to those of us standing in line. They said a bunch of compost was delivered that morning under the station for some landscaping that was being done, and hadn’t been moved yet. It was awful. While we were standing there, Stephen asked if we could ride in front. We were told yes, if we wanted to wait for the next train. We said sure. While we waited we got to see them take a monorail out of service. The track moved over, and the monorail took off to the right. It was very interesting. When that was done, another train showed up, and we were shown to the front. We rode with another couple who didn’t even know you could do this. The monorail attendant asked them if they wanted to join us because he liked the guys shoes. The were white, high top, Converse All Stars, but they were leather. Very cool. Then, off to MK.

We first went to Buzz, and it was a blast. Again, we walked right on. And then we walked off, and back on again. I have never been good that this ride, but I love it anyway. Then we headed to HM, admiring the magic on the way to the back of the park. After that we rode Splash. We were coming to E-night the next night, so we didn’t ride much. I just couldn’t stand being at WDW any longer without going to the MK.

We had decided to watch Fantasmic tonight, so we headed back to MGM by way of Epcot. I know it sounds like the long way, but it was very nice. We picked up a pretzel in FW, and headed toward WS to go out the International Gateway. With snack in hand, we headed out the International Gateway, boarded a boat for MGM, and went to Fantasmic. We grabbed a burger to split, and two cokes at Rosie’s All American Grill, and then went into the amphitheater. We got there about ½ hour before it started, and still sat two sections to the right of the Mickey section. Fantasmic was great. I took pictures, but they didn’t turn out. My film must have been too slow.

After Fantasmic (we sat and waited for the crowds to dissipate) , we headed out via the walkway. It was a great walk. The temperatures weren’t bad. I did, however, receive a number of bug bites on my ankles which bothered me for the next week.

We picked up a pizza a the to-go window at Spoodles to take back to our room. It was great. Our night finished about 10:30, and it was great. I am beginning the wish that my whole vacation was at the Boardwalk, it is so darn convenient.

Stay tuned for tomorrow when we find the best little cinnamon bun in Florida.

You sure did cover alot of ground today. Sounds like one of my "normal" days at WDW. Thanks for posting!

Wow, sounds like a terrific day! Can't believe there were no lines for Buzz...Must have really been slow! And don't feel too bad, I don't do well either, my boyfriend *always* kicks my butt! I'm really enjoying your reports and looking forward to reading more.

sounds like so much fun. I love to sit in the front of the monorail. What is the key under the mat?

At Muppets 3D, there is a door mat in the queue area. Lift it up, and look under it, and you see a door key. It's either embedded in the floor under the mat, or on the underside of the mat itself, I don't remember. It's cute though. There's a sign near it that says something about being out, but the key's under the mat. Very cute.

Thanks TC . I will definetly remember to look fo that on my next trip.

No lines for rides would be great. No people in the audience for the shows must take a lot away from the performers :(

Thanks for telling us about your day at MGM. I had fun reading about it.
