The KINDEST thing that you've seen/experienced at WDW???

Two acts of kindess were shared with my daughter on our last trip.

1. We were at MK a couple of days before her birthday and she was wearing a pin. An older couple in front of us in line in POTC gave her a dollar and said Happy Birthday. Maybe that is more generous than kind, but it made her face light up.

2. At the Halloween party, we got in line for the Townhall princesses early- like 6:15. There were only two other people ahead of us- a couple of girls in their late teens. We talked to them the whole time- even my daughter who is usually very shy around strangers. When the time came to meet the princesses, the girls let us go first so my daughter could be the first one to meet the chars. It is was very sweet.

Love focusing on the positive! We have multiple trips to Disney and have positive (and unfortunately negative) stories but I think if we can all take a deep breathe even when we are making a behavioral mistake - life will be so much more pleasant!

In 2007 DH and I were at AK riding Kali River Rapids and a couple of young Asian ladies that didn't speak much English were behind us. DH in his humorous way kept teasing the young ladies and telling them they were about to get wet; we got on the same raft together and had a lot of fun and laughter. On our way out, one of the ladies turned to me and said "for you" and gave me a very cool Tinkerbell light-up pin. I pinned it on my purse and a lot of people were asking me where I got it, wanting to know where they could get one. A CM recognized it and told me that it can only be found at Tokyo Disney. I take the pin with me every time we go to Disney World. I'll never get to Tokyo Disney so it's pretty special to have something from there.

My last trip was filled with magical moments - people treated my DD2 like she was a real, true princess. You would never know that these people see thousands of little ones a day, the way that they manage to make each one feel like royalty is astounding.

Whenever my daughter would get a sticker from a CM, she stuck it right on the tray of her stroller. Eventually cast members took notice and they would make an effort to find stickers she didn't have yet. They would give her several at a time and by the time our trip ended, that stroller was completely papered in stickers.

One day, she was dressed as pre-godmother Cinderella and ironically, lost a shoe. A CM noticed it was missing and made a big hoopla about how Cindy's always losing shoes and gave us a voucher to get some shoes from the gift shop.

Also, during an interaction with Merida, the subject of cupcakes came up. I don't know how, but somehow Merida started talking about cupcakes. Well, of course, then my two-year-old wanted a dang cupcake. So as we were leaving, the character handler told us that Starbucks on Main Street has great cupcakes and gave us a $5 voucher.

There's no where else like this place. It's the root of Disney's Magic. Those moments will be memories for me forever!

Our trip this past January had two specific "pixie dust" sprinklings. First, my son was eating his ice cream while waiting for his sisters to finish meeting Mickey and he dropped it with just a bit left. But we all know, it's those last yummy spoonfuls that you really savor. He began to clean it up with napkins when a CM came over with a voucher for another ice cream. He was ecstatic!
The second thing happened on our AK day, we arrived prior to RD and saw a CM walking in. I made some casual small talk with her as we walked in and she asked us how long we were staying. I told her that day was our only day in AK. She pulled out 5 ride entry cards (similar to the old legacy fast passes) for any attraction. Since we were there so early, we rode and saw everything we wanted and only used 1 of the generous passes. On our way out, we were able to pass the rest off to various families. THAT was the best part!

My husband and I were celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary at Disney. We were having lunch at sci fi and a nice family next to us were talking to us and we told them about our Disney wedding. When the bill came our server told us that the nice family paid for our meal. It was one of the nicest things a stranger has done for us. Hoping to do the same for someone else.

So Many! Love this thread! Here are the ones that come to mind first:

First trip to Disney, literally didn't even know until we got there that there were different parks, just thought there was one giant one. We stopped at Guest Relations outside Epcot to ask questions about MNSSHP. The CM, his name was James, had so much information and enthusiasm we got the tickets. Well, as we turn to go we see the monorail had just arrived, and we just knew we'd never make it up that long walkway in time (had no idea there was an elevator) because my mother was in a regular wheelchair that I was pushing. Then out of the back of the Guest Relations building comes running James, who ran my mother's wheelchair all the way up the walkway so we could make it! Amazing! That kindness just blew me away.

Last February we went, and I was so determined to get the Glow with the Show ears. I just thought they were the coolest thing. Of course at the time they were new, and completely sold out in MK. We were told probably not back in until April. I was totally crushed. Well, we ran into someone at MK who said she had purchased hers at HS. Yay! No go everywhere at HS. So I'm very disappointed. I'm standing in line to get my picture taken with Lightening McQueen and ToMater, and I find a resort keycard on the ground. I give it to the CM, and we get to talking. I tell her what happened. She says just a moment, and goes to talk to another CM. Then that CM leaves, and goes behind the gate. He brings out another CM, Todd, who comes to talk to me. He says let me see what I can do. I tell him we're actually leaving probably within an hour, and he asks for my cell phone number and if it's okay to text, just in case. Well, after we leave the area I see him go racing past. A little later we're in a shop before leaving and he texts saying, I've got a lead. Then he asks where we are. I text him back. Of course, I'm expecting him to come in person to tell me he's sorry, but he wasn't able to find it. NO! Into the store comes Todd with a Disney shopping bag. He tells me he found two pairs, one for me and one for my mom, and he ran into a friend along the way. Stapled to my bag is a handwritten note with a Mickey sticker from Mickey telling me to have a wonderful time, and enjoy my ears. So sweet! At this point I'm in the middle of the store crying and hugging this CM repeatedly. He told me I was going to make him cry. I go to take the bag to the register to pay, and he stops me, and tells me no. These are gifts from Mickey. Could.Not.Believe.It. Again with the hugging. I didn't stop smiling for the entire rest of my trip. The best thing EVER!

The last trip we went on was to celebrate no more cancer for me!!! I got a celebration button, and the CMs were very nice, including one giving me a free dessert at one of the food kiosks during F&W. I'll never forget my Akershus breakfast that trip, something special we'd never done, to celebrate. Cinderella came by, and we posed so my mom could take a picture. Then she saw my button and asked what I was celebrating. I got all emotional, and told her what was going on. She gave me a big hug. Then a little bit later she comes back, and asks my mother and me to follow her. She leads us to where you enter and get your picture taken with Belle. Cinderella brought me over for a special picture with her, Snow White, and Aurora all together! So incredibly nice!

Another one I just thought of, when we were there celebrating no more cancer I was trading pins with a CM who asked me what I was celebrating. I told her, and another guest overheard me. She told me congratulations and took 2 pins off of her own lanyard, and gave them to me "to celebrate" she said. Such a wonderful experience.

5 years ago we were having supper at Chef Mickey's. The family sitting next to us (2 parents, 4 children) walked over to us and gave our DD's (8 and 10 at the time) stuffed Mickey's. They said it was because their autistic son was being loud/disruptive during the meal and they wanted to give us pixie dust for not complaining - we honestly hadn't noticed anything and definitely were not bothered by any behaviour. Right away, it brought tears to my eyes. They were the most sincere, genuine, caring people I think I had ever met. Apparently they carried a backpack with stuffed toys to give away to people, spreading pixie dust and hoping that people would be understanding with them at meals, in lines, etc. We ended up chatting for the whole meal. Our oldest DD (age 10) and their oldest DD (age 9) became friends right away. They exchanged addresses and are still pen pals today (yes, the good old pen pal exchange with paper, handwriting and stamps on an envelope for 'snail mail' lol- they are in the U.S. and we are in Canada). They exchange birthday cards, Christmas cards and little gifts. Last year our trip dates matched up and we met them for a few hours in Animal Kingdom. It was a great reunion:-)

I was able to get a 1-day complimentary ticket from Disney because of an agreement Disney had with my previous employer at the time. This was during the "Year of a Million Dreams," and when I went to guest services to pick up my ticket, along with it came two Tinker Bell pins: one to keep and one to give away. I found a mom who was standing with a cute little blonde-headed girl in a green dress and explained what had happened and asked if I could give the pin to her daughter. She said yes, and she called her daughter over. I got down on my knees and got to give her that very special gift from Tinker Bell. :-)

We took my grandson at Chef Mickeys a few yrs ago, he was so excited he did not eat very much, and one of the workers came over to him with a big ice cream cone that he loved! I was surprised someone noticed he wasn't eating or even cared.

I remember those pins! I believe we have the whole set. We received them from CMs over the course of our stay in 2008. They are some of my most treasured pins. :)

My husband and I recently returned from DisneyWorld and had 5 days of pixie dust. We wore our Happy 20th Anniversary pins and we had hundreds of strangers from kids to adults to cast members, everywhere we went people would simply wish us a Happy Anniversary with a smile. It was so very special. It made our trip magical and we loved every minute of it. We loved the experience and will now pay it forward for others celebrating something special.

We were at Typhoon Lagoon with a gift card only. when we tried to purchase a snack at cart, they couldn't take a the card. i thanked them anyway, but they gave me the snack for free for the trouble. Nice little gesture. Its the little things that count. Great customer service.:)

Loved giving FP- to strangers. They looked perplexed, then so pleased and grateful. Got some at least once. Good times.

When we went to WDW in 2012, we had all but given up on trying to get on to Toy Story Mania. We were making our way over to a different part of the park when a lovely Cast Member stopped us out of the blue and asked us if we had managed to get on TSM yet? I explained we had tried but it was too busy when the CM said "I'm about to make your day kids" and she pulled out 2 FP for TSM!! I thanked her and have her a hug. She was so sweet and we were SO happy! pixiedust:

Over the 3 trips we've made we've had various kind deeds :yay:

1) DD (2 at the time) dropped her ice cream in sunshine seasons, DW was on her own with all our bags as I was on Soarin, a very generous family not only offered to get her a new Ice Cream - they refused any money for it
2)The 3 of us were in Territory Lounge when DD was 4, she had a lanyard on, but we didnt have any pins on it at the time. We got chatting to another British family, and their DD (who must only have been 9 or 10 herself) gave our DD a pin to put on her lanyard without any swapping
3) In Pizzafari one morning, we'd gone in to get some breakfast and the CM asked DD (jokingly) if she could have some of DD's juice - DD offered it to her straight away - thinking nothing of it we got our breakfast and sat down and then about 5 minutes later the CM brought out a cupcake because DD was being so generous

I know there have been others I can't remember at the moment...:tinker:

My first trip taking the kids while hubs was deployed we went to the Halloween party. I didnt realize the that we needed an adult for each child to ride Barnstormer. My 4 year old was crushed and the young CMs weren't very professional about it and questioned why I would bring two young kids to DW without another adult. I ended up in tears from missing my hubs and feeling like I shouldn't have come. This lady saw the interaction and offered to take my oldest if I sat with her son and my youngest. I was apprehensive at first but went ahead. My 4 year old had a blast and her son and my two year old had a grand time watching the fireworks. One of my favorite memories, I only hope she knows how much it meant to us!
This is the sweetest thing. I'm glad she was kind enough to help you out.

I do remember reading elsewhere a single dad wasn't sure what to do with his two young ones while at WDW and riding rides that only seat two together. Your situation reinforced the mental note I made to offer to ride with one of those kids if I saw a situation like that, as we will be 2 adults and a 5 y/o traveling together.

My youngest daughter was 3 and wanted to see Donald Duck so badly. We waited in a forever long line where one parent would wait and then right before they got to the character their entire family would join them.

After close to an hr of waiting they announced Donald would be leaving shortly. We were quite relieved that we were close enough to the front to see him before Donald left. The family behind us joined the dad that was waiting. Their 2 sons were out of control and we're pushing and running without regard for others and completely knocked my daughter and flattened her to the ground. She was screaming with bloody palms and we were next in line to see Donald. She was so upset the visit with him was pointless. We thanked Donald and CM handler and just left.

We headed to the bathroom to wash up and try to calm her down. About 10 mins later we were sitting by the bathrooms out of the main pathways having a snack. She was much better when suprisingly Donald comes by with his handler headed behind the scenes. Donald stopped, sat with her, danced with her and took her by the hand to the little store close by and gave her a small Donald Duck stuffed animal. We tried to pay for it but no one would let us!! My daughter is 16 now and stuffed Donald still snuggles with her and this experience has become one of our most special memories! This is Disney magic!!
