last week the Meowmixmobile was handing out free catfood (the feline members of our household remain grateful for that), and today was the Tropicana wagon with free bottles of apple juice.

Anyone handing out Pixie Dust?;)

Seriously, where are they?

the Tropicana people are at Wall St. and Water St. the Meow Mix people were at the Seaport. I've seen the Orbit Gum crew on Wall and Broadway a few times.

I particularly loved working on 5th Avenue...where every other day a parade was marching up the street, and I could never get across the street to get lunch.

I work on Water St! That is so funny. I didn't see them at all. Oh well. They haven't been handing out too much stuff lately. There used to always be some sort of promotion, especially near the Stock Exchange. I guess it's a security issue so that's why they don't have so much anymore.

Nah - nothing up here - occasionaly I see that truck with the Giant Rat Balloon, but something about it does not interest me to find out what they are doing.

What is is? Do you know? I think one day I am going to walk up and find out.

I sometimes wonder if its a subway promotion! LOL!

At least around here the giant rat means the union is picketing your place of business. We have the red bull truck around here always giving out samples. Because of them I have two sons who are hooked on that stuff.

Red Bull is good but I feel I dont need it when there is a starbucks on every block in Manhattan. Which I might be due for a cup in 5 minutes!!!

In Style magazine had a promotion going on here a couple of weeks ago. They gave you a booklet that was to be stamped at various midtown stores. When all the stamps were done, you could redeem the stamps for a free gift. I got a couple of picture frames, OPI nail polish, a manicure kit and Redkin hair products.

I'm on Park too!

Well - when there is something at the Waldorf then i get protestors. That is exciting!!! When the president is in they close down almost every street. YAY!

For the most part its dull up here. I went to school downtown - it was much more active!

I agree that downtown has more to do. I am across the street from the Waldorf and you're right about the protestors. Once in a while you do get to see a TV show or movie being filmed though. We recently saw the filming of Monk and years ago George Clooney came out of a trailor that was parked in front of my building!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a good chance we are posting from the same building. LOL! I am right there also. HA!

Yes, Law and Order is filmed everywhere. My shining moment was when I met Jennifer Lopez when she was filming "Maid in Manhattan". Im not the biggest J-LO fan but I had to approach her when she was in the street.

carole88,
They also had a really cool 30 minute fashion show outside Rockefeller Center Plaza throwing out T-shirts and Baseball shirts. The men loved it because it was windy so the models' dresses kept blowing up!

Yesterday they had Restaurant Day there and for $5 you could get tasting plates from a lot of the restaurants in the area.
