We are

Me - 42 years old (ouch!)
Wife Denise also 42 (heh heh) I think we refer to her as DW here
Son Tom almost 12, DS?
Daughter Rebecca (Becky) 10 going on 19, and therefor DD

Brekafast today was booked for 8.45 in Fantasyland, so we dutifully rose on time caught the bus on a beautiful clear cold morning and made our way into Disneyland. We went straight through Main (Spooky Street) which looks great empty!

First stop was Peter Pan, but they were having problems with the ride so we went straight round to get breakfast. The restaurant was the Pizza something-or-other and was themed around Lady and the Tramp. These small restaurants are hidden treasures with beautiful theming and show again that there is so much more to Disney than just the rides.

We went straight through to Discoverland to go on Orbitron. This ride always has long queues so we used our early start to beat the crowd, and it always surprises me just how fast it goes espcially if you keep the rocket low.

Next over to Frontierland, by now the sun had risen and for the first time since we'd arrived we weren't freezing cold. Got Fastpasses for Big Thunder Mountain and went round to do Phantom Manor.

Frontierland is transformed into Halloween Land and the imagineers do a great job, Pumpkins are everywhere, there's a small stage next to the Cruise boats, which have a huge ghostly spectre pulling them round the river ride.

We moved on to Phantom Manor, great ride again, then took in some atmosphere before we got on to Big Thunder Mountain. This is still the bst coaster in DLP, fun, and fast, with a great ending as you go through the caves in darkness with the bats flying overhead.

We moved into Adventureland and on the way to Indiana Jones bumped into a bunch of characters, Goofy, Timon, Baloo, the usual scrum of parents throwing their kids at the characters, are French people genetically incapable of queueing?

Got Fast pass for Indy, and went off to explore Advenure Isle, DD wasn't keen on doing Indy, and I don't like the wobbly bridge on the island so we agreed if I crossed it twice she would do the coaster. Of course the minute I set foot on the bridge the rest of the park arrived and started jumping up and down leaving me hanging on for grim death! After what seemed hours I staggered off the other side, but still felt like I was bouncing for about an hour.

Next round the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, and back to Indy. I preferred the ride forwards, DD hated it, next time she'll skip Indy and I'll skip the Troubled bridge over the water.

After that I ran out of excuses so we got in the queue for the Halloween Hairdressers, and about an hour later!! DD and DS emerged with green, black and orange hair, covered in spiders. That backcombing will be fun to brush out tonight!

We decided to park hop next door to the Walt Disney Studios. Now I know most people hate this place and it sure aint Disney's best, but I think it adds a lot to the resort, and the atmosphere is very different to Disneyland, and we all enjoy it there. We took some time to explore Studio 1, which I think works great, the mock shop fronts look good, there was a band playing, and we spent about an hour just in there, got a snack and just sat back for a bit.

By then it was about 2.15 the parade had passed and thousands of people started pouring in, so we poured out and went straight over the Art of Disney Animation. Again we all enjoy this, shame they force Walt and Roy Disney to speak French though. The clips from the Disney films work well, and the show with the Disney animator and Mushu works well.

Both Tom and Becky love the final room in which they get the chance to draw a Disney character under supervision, this time it was Mushu, but as it was so busy they were only letting the kids do it. Shame really DW and I did this at DisneyQuest and really enjoyed it even if her Winnie the Pooh was better than mine! We then went into Animagique, an OK show with Disney characters that glow in the dark. It was better than I remembered it but still not great.

Then next door to the Aladdin spinner - Flying caprets from Agrabah I think, only a 10 minute wait and then all four of us rode, even DW who hates anything that spins.

We'd been in the studios for about 4 hours and had only done the Animation Cortyard and Studio 1, to those of you that slag the park off, I'd say take your time, see everything, spend time playing in the animation building and you might just start to enjoy the place.

For Dinner we went into RainForest Cafe, as the kids love it, now I'm afraid I felt 67 Euros for sandwiches and fries for the adults plus 2 kids meals was a bit steep, DD ordered Pizza, which came without fries, she had a small glass of Fanta, and a Smarties lolly, 15 Euros. Oh well we enjoyed the thunder storm in the restaurant although this was without doubt the worst meal of the holiday.

Another walk back to the Cheyenne, and after almost scalping my daughter to get the backcombing out of her hair, we saw Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was on the Disney Channel so we all piled in bed and sat there singing along. "Oh you pretty Chiitty Bang bang, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang we love you...." and so to sleep.....
