Day 4(Typhoon Lagoon)- The weather channel said a 70% chance of rain! Oh well, we decided to go for it anyways. I like to be early at each park(much to the chagrin of my teens, LOL). We were at the bus stop about 8 am. We waited & waited & waited for a bus. After about 40 minutes(I'm very impatient!), I hired a cab to take us to TL. With tip it cost me $10. I found out later TL buses start about 8:30 am-DW said, "I told you so!"

The weather actually cooperated with us. Although it was a little cool at 9 am, we enjoyed the wave pool, Lazy river, & just laying out in an occasional bit of sunlight. I rode a few of the slides & we went to watch the sharks. I decided not to swim with the sharks, just watch. We had some leftover meal tix from a previous trip, so we used them at Leaning Palms. Good burgers, fries, cookie, & drink. We did a little shopping & left about 2 pm. While we were waiting for a bus to the Swan, another Disney resort bus came along. It was driving slowly through the parking lot(due to speed bumps). A man stepped across in front of the bus(he had plenty of room & time IMO). The CM driving the bus got really upset with him & kind of went nuts(mild road rage). DW & I both agreed we hadn't seen this type of attitude from CMs in the past.

Back to the Swan to wash clothes(actually, the laundremat is in the Dolphin). I hate washing on vacation, but when you stay 9 days, it's a necessity.

Later that evening, we made our way to Disney's Wilderness Campgrounds for the Hoop-De-Doo Musical Revue. We took the bus to MK & a boat to WC. We had never been here. It's a beautiful place! DW isn't much of a camper, so I doubt we'll ever stay here.

HDD was really good. They take your picture before the show & you can purchase it later if you want. I didn't feel alot of pressure to buy the picture, but we had budgeted $ for this & it was a good picture, so we bought it. Since I booked early, we were on the second row. The food was good(ribs, fried chicken, salad, beans, corn, strawberry shortcake, drinks-all you can eat). The show was corny but entertaining. The best part was when they involved the audiece. They put some big, tough-looking guy in a tu-tu. It was hilarious!!! They also recognize birthdays & anniversaries. Overall, a well-spent evening. We had planned to take the hay-ride, but it was raining(again!), so we took the bus back to the Swan via DD(LONG trip!!!).

At DD, we picked up some conventioneers. I think they must have been at Pleasure Island drinking. They took over the bus & were acting really immature. One of them kept trying to involve me in their conversation, but I tried to ignore them. Really wierd!!

Good day. Crashed at the Swan...

Day 5(MGM)- My youngest DD loves this park, so she was the most excited. We rode the boat over-very relaxing. Did RnRC(takes my breath away), fastpass for Tot, Star Tours(this used to be my favorite, but I'm kinda getting tired of it), back to ToT(great ride), Great Movie Ride(DW's favorite), Little Mermaid, Muppet Vision 3D(needs updating IMO), & Millionaire(fun attraction, but we didn't do very good).

Had a PS for Sci-Fi. Like others, I had had seen some bad reviews for the food here. While it was probably our weakest meal as far as quality/taste, it was a real blast because of the attraction. Sitting in the cars & watching the cartoons & old movies was a nice experience. I agree with the Unofficial Guide on this: go for dessert/ice cream & the atmosphere-not a meal. Don't get me wrong. It wasn't awful, but the ice cream was the best part of the meal.

We were exhausted by this time, so we went back to the Swan for rest. We waited for the boat, but could have walked faster.

Later, we walked back for the early Fantasmic show. Arrived about 90 minutes early. There were still good seats left 30 minutes prior(Dad, why did we have to come so early?). Oh well, we met some other folks from Texas & enjoyed sitting in the rain(LOL!) & talking to them. The show was good, but it seemed to have a different ending from 2 years ago. Anybody know about this? We had intended to do the dinner package, but the times left were too early, so we ate snack foods while waiting for the show.

Walked back to the Swan(20 minutes). We were pooped...

I wonder if you had to wait so long because TL wasnt open yet. Glad you finally got there. :)
I also see that you are a band director. My dh is one too..well he did Middle School and assisted High School for 25 yrs and now is teaching grades 3-5 general music. Our oldest dd has decided to become a band director too.. Yikes didnt we teach her better than that? :p Glad your trip is going so well.

I have enjoyed your posts. On our next trip to WDW we plan to do Typhoon Lagoon in the morning and then go over to Camp Wilderness to investigate. Did you have time to look around? I wanted to check out the petting area, pools, and cabins. I am thinking about staying there someday, even though, like your DW, I am not a camper.

Another great 2 days! Thanks for posting. :)
