The Ingredients for Pixie Dust, a June 2010 TR - 10/2 DIsney Halloween PTR started!

Hey there everyone! I am making the rounds, and I am trying to get all my replies in today. I want to get to our DTD day as well, and should be able to tonight. My mom flew from Oregon for a week. And our landscape project FINALLY finished!! So I am trying to get the rest of the gardening done since the weather is a lot cooler... But I have lots of days this week, with other holidays this week and next week (days off for our school system). SO have patience with me and I will slowly be sharing!!!!

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekends!!
:grouphug:

Patience...but I want to hear all about this new news you have...you can't keep torturing us with this LOL!!!

Loved your last night, loved that it included HM, I swear it never gets old seeing that sign and knowing others are enjoying my ride (and yes it's my ride I just let all of you borrow it, but it's MINE LOL). What special memories to have of you and your little guy having some time together at MK!!!!

OOOH...landscaping sounds like fun, I may have to pick your brain for some new ideas for my house...between you and Anita I just might get a green thumb yet LOL!!

The next morning was relaxing!! WHAT??!! We actually didn't get up to be somewhere before 9am???!! :lmao: YES, Virginia, it is true: We ALL slept in!!!! :yay: I went to get coffee in the morning while everyone else was still sleeping, and sauntered around the grounds of the BC with my handy cup! I took a few photos, but the lens kept fogging up so I just enjoyed sitting on a bench that morning admiring the Farfalla (butterfly)! The big topiary in the BC courtyard!

Since we were toying with a movie on the beach, I checked this out...

summer2010696.jpg

We had QS breakfast at the resort, I of course enjoyed my parfait!, and I ordered three meals, French toast sticks with ham, and the breakfast sandwiches on bagels. These were a great hit!

Then, we all got cleaned up and then drove over to DTD for our shopping morning. What fun!!

Our first stop was Once Upon A Toy! It was nice to just meander around with the kids, who looked at EVERYTHING. Here are all the random pics I took there with a little explanation...

Boys hanging out with Buzz...

A really cool feature in the store that I have never seen before...

summer2010703.jpg

YES here they are again!!!!

summer2010705.jpg

CRAZY Jack Sparrow sculpture!

summer2010701.jpg

The BOY really likes his Dinorsaurs!! One almost ate my camera...

summer2010699.jpg

summer2010702.jpg

DH and his look of mixed shock and horror... He could not BELIEVE that such a product existed... I told him I already knew people who owned these.... He said "Good God, only in Disney" .... ;) Of course this man doesn't know the first thing about "play kitchens and the like" -- but I wasn't going to explain it!!! :rotfl:

summer2010704.jpg

In the end, after a lot of deliberation, DS5 decided on a set of Dinosaurs, vs. one BIG one, and DS8 the bucket of soldiers… This is Mr. Potato Head taking DS8 for a ride outside the store!!!

summer2010706.jpg

As we walked out, it was a hot, hot morning. :faint And it was definitely a little after 11am at this point. And well, I casually mentioned to DH that I had heard (thanks Christine!) that the margarita stand made fine margaritas… can you tell where this is going? SO.... :rolleyes1

Well, they wanted to explore their toys.

Look, I am not a lush. BUT I was on vacation. And Christine is right. They are REALLY good. Also good is the set up under the umbrella tables with DISNEY music piped in. I was on cloud 9... :cloud9:

summer2010707.jpg

summer2010709.jpg

It was a perfect pit stop before our next stop... THE LEGO STORE …
So trust me. I needed that margarita... LOL!

Legos coming UP in the NEXT post!!!!

What a pretty and colorful night you had to yourself! :goodvibes
I am getting ahead of myself but I will really be looking forward to your TR from DL in October.....I have seen pictures, etc and I :lovestruc Nightmare Before Christmas. ::yes:: Also looking forward to Scotland ;)
I think I would enjoy SWW sometime too....I would really like to take my nephews but I think they are still in school at that time? :confused3 Honestly I could care less about the SW part of it :rotfl2: but the parade and the characters look fun...I can't remember when I saw SW....whenever the first one came out....the 70's? :scared1:

Tracy

HI! Well, I am looking forward to DL in SEVEN weeks, too! It is around the corner!! I can't wait to see the difference! Scotland is coming up in my PTR for DL! With Star Wars Weekends, it would be out of school for us too, we are still in session, but if I could swing one extra day, it would be four days. Not sure if it will work out, STILL thinking on that one...
Yeah, I saw the first one when I was in 1st or 2nd grade, I think... can't recall!!

I would just love a night to shop by myself though am not at all sure I'd have the energy to drive over there by myself at that hour! How very very fun. Shopping is the one thing that for me, I didn't get enough of, this trip.

Looking forward to hearing about Scotland and Oregon and I will have ALL kinds of info for you for your trip to the dark side!

I really had so much fun doing it on the Christmas trip, it was an easy decision for me! But my kids tend to go to bed in time for me to do so.
I have to finish this TR first! Then I will tackle everything else!! BUT I cannot wait to get back over to your TR and find out about Wizards and such! I know you are just getting started!!!

Hi HD!

Just popping in to say hi and hope all is well. I've forgotten if you've already started school or if you start next week? Well hope it is going or goes well. :goodvibes

OH it was madness, and I have been wiped out, and entertaining! So it has been hard to get over here! You are going to F and W really SOON, too!!!! :thumbsup2

Did you get that second slushie that night to stave off the heat also? I am going to used that as my excuse from now on!! :lmao:
Oh my I just love the pictures of your two boys saluting....they look sooooooo serious!!!! :goodvibes

Tracy

Please. I don't need ANY excuse for a second slushie. :lmao:

Yes, the salute was big the last few days, NOT sure why -- I guess it goes with the theme  Of course DS5 kinda looks like he is shielding his eyes from the sun, but oh well.

Awww, that KP mission in Mexico brings back memories of the boys last Christmas...

Matt is so funny surrounded by all of the KP agents. Glad he was able to get the right mission!

YES!!! That was super fun. Of course we almost lost them, right? :rolleyes1
I agree. I am going to miss the Christmas visit... but at least I will be able to see the decorations.

It is kinda funny, like one of those "lightbulb" jokes -- how many KP Agents does it take to ... :goodvibes

Sometimes ice cream and a video and just resting is the best activity on property.

Shopping is always good, too. :)

I want to take the girls to Chefs sometime to see Remy. We might have planned it for this trip, only we'll probably be leaving Epcot at lunchtime to go meet Trent somewhere outside a park to eat. Maybe we'll do it in March.

I agree. Even for me!!!! :rotfl: Shopping is ALWAYS good, I agree!!!! :thumbsup2

If you can get the chance, it is really cute. :goodvibes They come by for a few minutes, and it is entertaining, the CM chats with you and so does Remy, and it makes for a good character interaction and photos!!!

OKAY, MORE REPLIES COMING UP THIS AFTERNOON!!!! I GOTTA GO SPREAD MULCH!

I'd need one before the lego store too. I've not hit the DTD margarita stand before....

That food playset is a riot, eric would have wanted it just for the play Mickey bar!

OKAY, MORE REPLIES COMING UP THIS AFTERNOON!!!! I GOTTA GO SPREAD MULCH!

Mine do not. Go to bed in time for me to do so. LOL! I may just have to ditch them to accomplish this.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the margarita. I LOVE that little spot. So relaxing. :cloud9:

I may have to have it pointed out to me!

We can spend much time in Once Upon a Toy!
So much to see and do! :cool1:

You can't tell me that the Rice Krispy Mickey head isn't one of the coolest pieces of plastic food to ever hit a kids mouth!!! :thumbsup2

I totally forgot to order the Lego book when I was on Amazon ordering other goodies for Connor's birthday. I guess I will have to put together another order. LOL!

I actually read the description of the spy museum out of the guide book out loud to Charles, and he agreed that it sounded neat. After all, we have put in a lot of hours helping Kim Possible and all! :rotfl:

What a lovely morning stroll around the Beach Club you had, and there is a lot to be said for sleeping in a bit!

Shopping at DTD is always fun. Of course, what I want to know is...have the dinosaurs attempted to eat the soldiers yet? Or have the soldiers planned an attack on the soldiers?

Hey, I see nothing wrong with margaritas before tackling the Lego store! Time moves slower in there, after all! ;)

Clearly slushies are medicinal and have very strong healing/cooling properties. Maybe I can find a Dr. to write me a prescription! :lmao:

Great update and pictures. Your boys are consistently adorable. I especially love the Mission Space salute pics and the family portrait with Remy.

I just :lovestruc Chefs de France. And no, not ONLY b/c of the waiters... :upsidedow

I want that prescription, too! Those boys are a handful as much as they are cute! ;) I really like Chefs too! And I agree the waiters and the food are great... Of course I like Tutto's for the same reason...:rolleyes1

Holy Many Superb updates Batman!!!!! You have been missed!! I'm sure the start of the new school year has you running around crazy (well at least it is for me LOL)! I hope you had a great start and will continue having a great year!!

I just love the pictures of your boys having fun in EPCOT!! THey are so cute as they save the world during their KP missions!!!

YAY for getting double FP again!! That is awesome!!!!!

WELLLLLLLLLLLL... I was behind! Yes, it has been crazy and I am sure just as much for you, what with a new school, new community, new kids and collegues! That is a lot for certain! It is going well so far.

Thank you Jen, they so loved that play area and just LOVE KP missions.

Yes, that double FP ticket was a fortunate bit of luck for those final few days!

Your MK solo and Epcot solo sounds like bliss :thumbsup2 I have never thought of doing this when the rest were having a rest back at room

Love the boys pics in matching t shirts waiting to ride MS. We ventured into the mexico pavillion this year, shameful but we hadn't bothered previous trips, we'll not do that again, it was great. Oh your margaritas sounds yummy :goodvibes

Hope your first week back at school goes okay, our kids are back and it is so nice having them back into a normal routine. I no longer have that guilty feeling when I leave them sleeping before going out to work the cuddles are back and we have breakfast together again :)

The Mexico Pavillion is a great place I know! I do enjoy slipping out for a few minutes when I can, it is nice to be able to do that when the kids are asleep or when the hubby can take care of the boys! I like to just meander and see stuff when I am not trying to watch out for them.

I think that the mornings are easier with everyone on a routine, I totally agree! :thumbsup2

Sounds like a great last park day that you are having! The pictures of your boys playing after MS are great - older DS looks so serious, like he's totally getting into his 'mission'.

Love the pictures with Remy! Is he always there for lunch or is it hit or miss?

Oh we did have a great day! I am so behind on these replies I feel silly finally getting to them, but I didn't want you all to think I hadn't been reading them!!! I got really behind. YES, Griffin is totally into his mission. :rotfl:

Remy is there, I think every day -- certain hours. Maybe not dinner, not sure. :confused3 He is really cute!

I know all about the school week going by in a blur! This is our fourth week, and it is still a blur! I was talking to my AP today, and we both agreed that we already feel so far behind on everything! It's just crazy! Anyway, I am finally getting a chance to enjoy your update!

Yes a BIG BLUR it has been!!! Good grief! YOU are finally getting a chance to enjoy my update!? Yes, well I was in the same boat! I finally got a chance to catch up with yours too!

What a great last day in the parks, and a relatively empty Epcot made it even better, I am sure! Too funny about the boys not really enjoying Club Cool -- my kids can't get enough of all that free soda. LOL!

The frozen cappuccino/Soarin' Fast Pass run is a great combo! I can attest to that! :thumbsup2

Matt and the swarm of KP agents!!! :lmao:

Well, they liked the whole experience at Club Cool, but they are not soda drinkers. So the fizzy stuff isn't something they really care for. But it was a fun day all around.

OH yes the Cappuccino/Soarin Fast Pass run was a great combo! Glad we both had a chance to experience that!!

Love the pictures of the boys and Remy! They are so adorable!

Okay, the Mousegears/Slushie combo is even better than the cappuccino/Soarin' combo! I wish I had known you hadn't been able to find the sprinkles -- I got ours at World of Disney and would have gladly picked some up for you. :(

YES that was one of my favorite pics this trip. AND yes, the Mousegears/Slushie combo IS even better than the cappuccino/Soarin' combo!! I agree! Oh drat those dang sprinkles!!! I looked there at WOD too, but maybe they were already out. Next time! :thumbsup2

Dinner in Mexico and the Donald ride sound like a wonderful way to wrap up the evening! I am really hoping we will get a chance to eat at either San Angel or the new Mexican TS on our next trip.

I would totally try it -- I bet you would enjoy it! :thumbsup2

Do you have another trip planned!? :yay:

Oh LL, that isn't the ONLY kind of new news! It would be AWESOME new news I know, but sadly it isn't that exciting!!! I WISH!

new news? :cool1:

It is cool!

New news? Such a tease! :upsidedow I will have fun looking forward to hearing all about it.

I may have asked you this before but I've forgotten. How do you combine DIS'ing with the treadmill? I think I'd fall right off! :scared1: But it would be great if I could force myself to exercise while I'm DIS'ing away... at least some of the time!

Well this is what I do. We have a treadmill with big handle/bars along the side on which I place a board that my DH cut for me (a foot wide plywood "shelf" basically). I can use my treadmill, put my laptop on the shelf, and I jack up the incline, and the pace is a fast walk, so I can actually read, and type a LITTLE, but mostly just read. I can spend an hour on it with a blink of an eye, and this way I feel I am getting some exercise in!

:rotfl: I always thought about that too....like typing etc....

Oooh new news!!!! :flower3:

Tracy

It isn't too hard, and I don't type too much. Yes, some new news. :)

The first week will do that to you!
Ohhh new news! Curious...popcorn::

YES the first week and the second. BUT thank goodness for only a few days! Thanks so much for those reading lists, btw! I always get books for trips, and these will be good for him to choose from!

You are such a TEASE! Get back here, girly, and tell us your new news!

Oh dear! I didn't realize that you were all hanging on my words here! I know I have been gone, so of course I see how that little bit could have left you all hanging!!!!!! OOPS! WELL, it isn't the news you are toying with, nevermind how much I would like for that to be my news!!!

Since school has started back, the whole gang of us has been around a lot less, so I wouldn't think a thing about it.

Looking forward to the news! :cool1:

Thanks, MeMom! I am going to catch up on the double digit pages that I still need to read over on your TR!! I have to catch up with what has been happening over there! You are next on my list! I can't wait to see what you have posted!!!!

Welcome back!!! Great day at Epcot! My kids loved KP too! I just love that you manage to squeeze in some solo trips to the parks at night and also that you and your older son went to MK together the last night. That was sweet! Glad to have you back!

Just caught up. Loving the TR! How cool that you and DS spent your last AP night together riding all the classics in the MK! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear what your news is!

Day 10 continues.... it is a rainy day here in MD, so I am going to finally get this day finished!!!!!

SO a little refreshed, and certainly with more patience ;), we next headed to the most exciting store in DTD (well this is according to the rest of my travel party -- I have others in mind) the LEGO STORE...

Truthfully, this was fun for everyone… DH included… He has this thing for legos… I am not sure why, it is the boy in him I guess.

Here they all are....

While they were preoccupied, I hopped over to WOD...

summer2010711.jpg

I really had done most of my souvie shopping earlier, so this time I just poked around and made sure there wasn't anything else I wanted!

I didn’t want to go to Goofy’s today, because I knew we would NEVER get out of there, so instead we headed for lunch at WPE (again!) and then headed back to the resort.

Back in the room we switched into pool gear, and with another late dinner reservation, we had a relaxing and fun afternoon, with some drinks by the pool, and ice cream at Beaches and Cream. VERY relaxing.
We made our way back up to the villa, where everyone had a shower or a bath. We were headed back to another dining favorite this trip – even though I had a reservation at Kona Café, after our fantastic meal earlier in the week, DH wanted to return to Narccoosee’s. So luckily I was able to get a reservation for 8:00. We went ahead and parked at the Poly, and took the monrail over to the GF.

Stay TUNED for next post!!!!

So once we made it to the GF, we had a half an hour before dinner. We walked around a bit and then headed to the restaurant.

The repeat performance did NOT disappoint, and this time at least the boys could have dinner!!! Again the appetizers and splitting the lobster entrée was a perfect match for DH and I – as was the bottle of wine we had from earlier in the week. Well, we needed to check to see if it was really as good as we remembered!! It was. :goodvibes

After a nice dinner we had time to spare before the fireworks. So we walked the grounds of the Grand Floridian at night it is really pretty. With about 45 minutes before fireworks, DH told me to go do what I wanted for a half hour, and he would take them to the arcade. I would then meet them there and we would go back to Narcoossee’s to see the fireworks from their deck outside on the water.

DH grabbed this photo of us, I was trying to hold onto both of them without falling back into the fountain  I have terrible racoon eyes in this one, but oh well!!! Then off they went to the arcade, and off I went into the GF, to enjoy the sights inside....

summer2010744.jpg

summer2010736.jpg

I got this cute floor picture, I know MeMom took several, too!!!

summer2010746.jpg

Here are my "virtual shopping" attempts!!! MeMom you are SO better at this than I!!!!!

summer2010737.jpg

summer2010738.jpg

summer2010739.jpg

summer2010740.jpg

summer2010741.jpg

This is the Tshirt I contemplated buying for my kids, but apparently I have one in a few years, when Connor outgrows it!!! ;) Thanks Jackie!!! :thumbsup2

summer2010743.jpg

Of course I enjoyed perusing the shops, and I also went to Basin White....

summer2010763.jpg

I bought some fabulous soap and body butter in the scent which I knew would carry me until my next Disney vacation… that is WHEN I finally decided to use it.
Pink Sugar. Guess what that smells like… YOU got it. Cotton Candy. :cloud9:
It is delightful.

So back to the arcade I went… and here they are having fun.

Coming up in the NEXT post!!!

When I got over to the arcade, the boys were having fun. That arcade is really small at the GF, nothing to write home about, but they did have one game, which was very popular with my kids!!! A rollercoaster! :rotfl:

summer2010747.jpg

summer2010748.jpg

summer2010753.jpg

Even DH got into this one (it was a VIRTUAL rollercoaster ride -- not the high tech one at Epcot, obviously! NOT Sum of all Thrills, but definitely worth a few giggles!

summer2010750.jpg

We then walked over to see the fireworks. Here are a few from that spot, of the Contemporary and across the water. It was hard to believe that just ten days earlier we were there, just starting our trip... :sad1:

summer2010734.jpg

summer2010733.jpg

summer2010732.jpg

BUT Fireworks always cheer me up, so here they are...

Watching them there on the pier was great! The music was piped in, the view great. I really enjoyed this final night in Disney the view across the water at the Contemporary and BLT, and seeing the show from afar really gave you a neat perspective of the fireworks.

summer2010762.jpg

summer2010757.jpg

summer2010756.jpg

summer2010755.jpg

summer2010754.jpg

So with the show ending, it was time to head back to the Beach Club. Here is our last Monorail ride.... I am okay, I am okay, I am not going to burst out into tears... really... :rolleyes1

summer2010764.jpg

summer2010765.jpg

So yes, we got to the car, and back to the villa to get the boys in bed. With the boys in bed I did some packing and such, getting squared away for the morning.

It was, without question, a wonderful final evening at Disney.:cloud9:

STAY TUNED for our final half day, departure day, and my DIS meet! And of course our SOUVENIERS!!!!!!!!!!

Oh do you have news on a new trip :confused3 Look forward to hearing about your news.

Changes to your ADR sounded just right for yous on your last evening with the fireworks topping off what looks like a wonderful evening :goodvibes

Have you started your DL PTR?

That was a lovely final evening! It is hard to go away, but you know you are coming back....
Well, taking a slight detour to Disneyland, but you are coming back.:goodvibes

I'd have to agree... not sure Lego gets my vote for best store in DTD but then again, I've never been in!

Afternoon breaks at the pool are the best. Especially when the pool is SAB!

You really have me wanting to try Narcoossee's! ::yes::

All in all, a lovely final evening. I think we all probably get a little choked up and teary realizing the magic is done for that trip. Why is it vacation time goes by so fast???

Looking forward to your DL trip planning. Oh and don't think I forgot about the "news" you promised us, missy! ;)

What a great last night at Disney. It's so sad it has to end, but there are more trips to be planned!

Ah, the lego store. It sounds like everyone had a good time. What a fun last afternoon and evening. Very relaxing yet still Disney between DTD, SAB and the GF. Just lovely!

Pink Sugar was Kendall's favorite too, I was surprised she didn't want to get any!

I love that shop, there was one Lilly Pulitzer dress I'd have killed for but wasn't interested in spending that kind of money!

LOVE the fireworks from the GF, it sounds like a perfect perfect last night.

Still WAITING on your new news missy!
