The infamous $99 cruise

I've seen mention of the $99 cruise posted here & there before, but never really looked into it. But ever since I've returned from my 7 day cruise, I've looked for any excuse to get back. Even if it were for one day, a $99 cruise would be worth it to me.

So, what is it, what makes you eligible for it, and how do you get it? Let me know!! :)

The $99 cruise was a special offer for guests who cruised either 4 or 7 nights in January of 2002. We were given vouchers for a $99 3 night in the fall. I'm taking mine in a little more than 2 weeks.:D

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. The $99 cruise was a special offer for people who cruised in January--it was an attempt to get more bookings during a time when folks weren't in the mood to travel.

It worked.

my guess is that it was strictly a one time deal...and will not ever be offered again.

Though I'd *love* to get such a deal, let's pray that the travel industry never takes another hit like it has the past year. LoL!! My retirement fund just can't handle it!

And as long as you're reading about all of the bad news, the $99 per person offer is non-transferable. At least one person from the original January cruise must be present on the fall cruise.

hth

AND - unfortunately it is soooo over and done with (except the actual cruising) as we all had to complete our bookings in March.

I'm still bragging to my friends about my "Disney deal of a lifetime", but I'm with you Willowind .... when the travel industry takes a hit and starts offering great deals, we pay for it somewhere, don't we?

Hi gang,

Add me to the lucky group that got the $99 deal, thanks to this forum!<BG> I had just gotten off the 4 day cruise last December when I saw on this forum about the deal to rebook in Jan.'02 for this special offer. It wasn't easy to turn around a few weeks later and pay for another cruise, but it was soooo worth it!

My advice to everyone who missed it...okay, so they may not offer this sweet of a deal again, but you never know what they will offer as Jan. is typical a slow month for DCL (F.Y.I so is September) so keep your eyes peeled to this forum and hopefully everyone here will keep sharing their good deals they find.

Mmketeer,
I'm with you. We were very fortunate to land those vouchers!
I have friends who didn't utilize them! Can't even imagine.
This has been the highlight of my year.

I missed my 20 year HS reunion because of my $99.00 cruise.
But hey, the dinner was $100.00 per person... ok hmmm tough choice. One night with people I spent four years with and a ****ty dinner or 3nights of absolute enjoyment!

October 17th... here I come again!

Just got back from the Sep 12, 2002 Wonder 3 night cruise on the $99/person rate.

I doubt I'll ever get such a deal again.

Since we had such a good deal, we splurged on photos, wine, and spa.
