The infamous 8:30am call and knock on the door.

We got both on Sunday, 3/3. We were up so it wasn't a big deal. It was kind of funny as I explained it to DW. We were in room 4075/4073 at 2 bdr standard view. We requested close to the elevators and this was the second set of rooms on the left side of the hall.

It was clean with no problems. Got a Welcome Home on check in and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Just curious... Did you have your "Do Not Disturb" sign on your door?

I'm glad it didn't bother you, as you were already up, but we normally sleep in on our last day, and find this quite intrusive.

Glad the room was ship-shape, just the same.

I stayed at BWV for 24 nights in Jan/Feb. During this time, I checked in/out 4 times (switching from studio to 1 bedrm and back again and again). I did not receive any knocks on my door or phone calls on check out days. (I had my "Do Not Distrub" sign on the door every night.) However, I did receive a call one morning at 8:30 (which was not on a check out day). As soon as I answered, they hung up, but the background noise sounded like it could have been the front desk area.

I'm all prepared to disconnect the phone and hang out my do not disturb sign the last day. That would be a very jarring way to start the day. It's not like you're not already bummed to be leaving!

As long as I have cell phone reception, I'll be unplugging the phone (and hanging the sign out...)

chip1- Apparently, Housekeeping has a habit of making phone calls and knocking on doors to find out if you have vacated your room on check out day. If you answer your phone, they hang up. They don't admit to this of course. There is a theory that if you hang your DND sign, they will leave you alone.

It should be noted that this does not happen to everyone.
