The 'I'm attending MVMCP' thread

My girlfriend and I will be attending MVMCP for the first time tomorrow night and I was wondering what to expect? Are any rides open? If so is it all of them or a handful? If anyone could give me a general idea of what to expect I would appreciate it. Thank You.

Here's a link to a great thread - info on all Dec. happenings at WDW and info about MVMCP:

My daughter-in-law and I are doing a girl's trip to plan for the grandkids next visit.

We will be attending the December 11th party. Two adults.

Why didn't you like it? We're going to our first on the same night.

We really can't put our finger on it which is why we are going to try it again. We are HUGE fans of MNSSHP and just :love:love everything about it. The last party we went to was also the last MVMCP of the season and it was a sell out and really crowded. I honestly think it is just the theme that is getting us. We usually pay to attend a couple of MNSSHP in one trip, the parade is that good, have the music in the car and we listen to it at least once a week. We shall see, going again to just see some characters, see the parade at night, and the party is cheaper than a 1 day base ticket.

There are a number of character meet & greets, a special Xmas parade, a special Xmas fireworks show, a few other different shows throughout the park, snow on main street (yes, it really does snow) and complimentary hot cocoa and cookies. Pretty much most of the rides are open but not 100% of them. We never do an character M&G or watch any of the shows but we do watch the parade & fireworks and most DEFINITELY take advantage of the short ride lines.Of the parties we've been to, the lines were pretty much almost non-existent. I think the most we've ever waited for a ride at MVMCP was 5 minutes, MAYBE 10. Last time we went, we rode Space Mountain 3 times in a row and literally walked on each time. It was sooooooo excellent. Can't wait for our party next Tuesday!

Not much activity lately but that is kinda of a blessing because I have been at WDW since Saturday 12/1 and been busy. For us, today is AK day and then leaving there about 3:00 to head to MK for our MVMCP!!!!! WOO HOO!!!! I'll post my party report (hopefully) tomorrow. :)

Today is our party day!!! So excited! Can anyone confirm that yes, they were allowed into the park at 4:00. With only the party tickets?

We were let in at 4 on the 6th!

Attended the party on the 20th (yesterday). Great day and beautiful weather....up until the end of the fireworks.

Glad we decided to view the first parade. Traffic was much lighter than I anticipated. Got in line for Cindy at about 7:30 and was out about 20 minutes later. Went to Town Square for the other princesses at about 8PM and only waited about 5 minutes before we were let in. Came out with time to spare before the first parade started. Also had a great view of the fireworks.

Although the rain didn't let up for the rest of the night (and at times got really heavy) we toughed it out. Pretty miserable though.

While we enjoyed the party, we would not repeat the experience. Glad we did it once, though. ::yes::

Yes, we were let in at 4 with our party tickets. We weren't able to use them to get fastpasses though. Apparently they could fix that problem at guest relations but we were all the way back at Big Thunder Mountain when we discovered this. The CM at the fastpass machines was nice enough to print out some fastpasses manually though. Everything else we wanted to ride was a 10 minute wait so it wasn't really a problem for us after all. I don't think there are any fastpasses available during the party, but you can hopefully use your party tickets to get FP between 4-7pm if you stop in at guest relations. HTH!

That's interesting. Our party tickets worked for FP before the party on Space Mtn & Buzz without doing anything. Did you scan your party ticket & go through the turnstiles on the way in? (I think you have to, but just in case...)

We had such a great time. Of course we read the pros and cons but needed to do it ourselves just once. So glad we did. It was one of the best events we attended ever.
