The Iced Coffee Chronicles

So, a few weeks back I posted a question about where to find iced coffees at WDW (to sustain my caffine addiction ;) ), and now that I've returned from my trip, I thought I'd share my findings.

Animal Kingdom: my first day in the parks, I went to the Anandapur Tea Company (Asia), based on a recommendation I found here. Success! Perfectly ice brewed coffee for $2.25 (about the same price I pay for a venti at Starbucks; this was a 12 oz, so pretty good considering). Didn't see a coffee cart elsewhere, but maybe I missed it.

Epcot: after a brief rembrance for Fountainview (closed, but didn't look like they were breaking it down or a refurb or anything???), I found THREE coffee kiosks that sold iced coffee, same quality as the ice brewed I found at the AK and all in the World Showcase. Location 1: inbetween Canada and UK. Location 2: America pavilion (left, near the backstage gate), Location 3: just before Mexico if you are entering the WS from the left. Excellent and well done, Epcot!

MGM: Unfortunately, I didn't find any ice brewed coffee here. But, I did get a hot coffee poured over ice at the Starring Rolls Bakery. At least they had the decency to serve it in a plastic cup suitable for cold drinks, and didnt' try to pass it off with ice in a regular coffee cup (one of my pet peeves...yes, I'm an iced coffee snob...OK, probably I'm borderline OCD;) ). And, they gave me extra ice. Tasty and full of caffine, but not as good as the previous too.

MK: I found an "iced cappicino" at the Enchanted Grove (inbetween Fantasyland and Tomorrowland in the path leading from the side of the castle). Very, very sweet (mixed with sugar), but tasted pretty good on a hot day. Didn't see any other coffee/espresso kiosks here, but I never got the chance to check in the Main Street bakery, where someone posted to check.

YAY!! There is iced coffee in Disney. *makes mental notes for next months trip*

Now I have an urge to go to D&D and get myself a large iced Hazelnut. :goodvibes

Speaking of, I noticed a D&D on Vineland...just off I-4 the exit east of DTD.

Are these iced blended coffees? Or just iced? I need the blended kind.

I've had the one at the Italy cart, but I found that it separated out pretty quickly in the heat of daytime. I liked the one at the Main St. Bakery, which was very thick--almost shake-like in its consistency.

The only one that was blended was the drink at the Enchanted Grove. I don't care for the blended because I never know how much sugar is added. A number of places (I didn't note them specifically) did have a frozen coffee drink (usually next to the frozen lemonades).

Thanks for the update!!! I was getting worried about how I will survive our September trip without any Iced Coffee!!! I won't drink it hot until the weather turns cool. You would think in Disney you could find iced coffee in more places!:confused3

I was just pleased that I found it in the parks at all! And for a pretty reasonable price! ($2.25 in both AK and Epcot)

Also in AK, Kusafiri Coffee Shop is inside Tusker house in Harambe.

MGM has Writer's Stop which serves coffee drinks. It is next to Sci-Fi.

There is a coffee spot in Future World near Ellen's Energy Adventure.

I LOVE iced coffee - but I am not an expert at it (ie: blended?? or not blended??).
And I am recently on a sugar free diet (Sugar Busters) - so I was wondering if any of the iced coffee drinks you mentioned could be made sugar free or are they a pre-made mix.

Thanks so much!! :flower3:

Thank you for posting information about Iced Coffee. You have saved this Dis’er a lot of time and effort by posting the exact locations of my favorite drink: iced coffee. I have printed the info and will make it a part of my upcoming travel itinerary. Thanks again Soubrette !!!!!!

I am totally addicted to Iced Coffee. I usually go twice a day to Dunkin Donuts. I plan to buy the small sample size of coffee from DD and brew it in the coffee maker in my room and then put carafe in the fridge. Hopefully I can buy some flavored cream out there or maybe I will bring the little flavored "cups" that they sell. I MUST have my iced coffee!!!!:rotfl2:

Thank you sooo much for your iced coffee info!! I made notes and am now putting them in my notebook that I'm taking with us. So exciting...iced coffee...

Yes; all of the ones I mentioned, with the exception of the iced cappicino at the Enchanted Grove, were pure iced coffee...no sugar. Same as a regular cup of coffee, just ice brewed, so you can add your own milk, sugar, Splenda or whatever.

(I personally drink mine with a splash of 1/2 and 1/2 and Splenda)

Christin,

Thanks!! Good to know I can enjoy the iced coffee!
I use Splenda too - is Splenda offered at all the coffee shops (and resort food courts) or did you bring your own??

Thanks Again! :goodvibes

Thanks so much for the iced coffee information. This is our first trip--in 10 days-- with the kids being "late night" people and I am going to need a late afternoon fix to make it through the late nights. I am so a morning person and they are sooo not! :lmao: I printed your suggestions so I will not forget. I do not like the premixed coffee drinks with sugar.

When we were last there in October last year there was a stand selling iced coffe just inside the entrance to MGM. It was on the right hand side going in, near the information place. I'm pretty sure the coffee/book shop also sold them.

Here's the big question: How many of those locations, if any, are covered on the Dining Plan? I don't remember if they are priced under $4 to begin with. I remembered that some of the kiosks had a sign up saying that the DDP was not accepted at that location. I was wondering if that has spread to all of the coffee places. Our first time using the DDP about a year and a half ago, we were able to get what we wanted at Writer's Stop at MGM but during our last trip, we got to WS too late and they were closed.

If you can remember the DDP details please let me know.

Thanks

Thanks for the useful info! We need that iced Java to help us keep up with each other. I hadn't looked for it but only once before. Now I will know just where to go it!

Mary,

Yes, I found Splenda at all of the coffee stands. Have a great trip! :)
