I swear, my employers are really taking their time getting us our W2's this year!! I'm aching for my refund!! :Pinkbounc

Do you have your last paycheck stub for 2005? I have done my taxes online just using that. I don't have insurance or 401k taken out, so it was pretty much exactly what ytd deductions were stated on my stub.

For real! I check the mailbox every day, it's driving me crazy!

My DH was able to get his online. But we still need to go to the tax place to have them done.

For some reason, his company is also handing out bonus checks this week too (today, I think). Normally they give them out in February or March.

I'm really nervous and hoping for a lot of :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: because this is supposed to pay for our upcoming WDW trip.

DH's company ALWAYS waits until the last possible moment to get them out. We won't have ours until next week. :guilty: I hate having to wait!

That would be my suggestion too :) :)

If you do have 401 K taken out do you just subtract that from the gross pay for the year? What about health insurance?
I am not sure how this works.

I'm waiting on dh's. He got an email that they're going out over the next day or two. It's all the more frustrating because I need to fill out the FAFSA for financial aid for my son and with all the deductions for 401k, flex plan, etc, I need the W2, I can't make an accurate guess.

Maybe today?

On the bright side my son's came the other day and his taxes are done.

I haven't gotten any of my W2's or 1099's or anything. ugh! And I'm still trying to ammend last years taxes. They keep sending me the wrong corrected 1099R. So frustrating.

All that should be included on each paystub, with a YTD column as well.

1099's and 1098's are a different story, though -- that's hard to estimate, unless you have all your monthly mortgage statements and quarterly stock/mutual fund reports.

I haven't gotten mine or DH's yet either. I have two this year, since I switched jobs this year. They have until next Tuesday to mail them out.

Here's to hoping the come fast!

My paycheck doesn't list my Employer ID Number. Also I had two jobs with a university, but they pay is lumped together. One job was a workstudy, and thus exempt from paying SS Tax, but the other wasn't. So my income tax wages are different from my SS/Medicare wages. That information isn't on my paycheck though, just my total wages. I have to wait until I get the return to enter that information on the online taxes. I don't want to risk leaving out any information.

Also, you have to add any Group term life insurance that the company pays on your behalf. THere should be a ytd total on your stub.

Just because they HAVE until January 31st to mail doesn't mean they have to wait until then. We are still waiting on 2 of our 3 and I swear they are sitting there waiting for 11:59pm on the 31st to mail it

Still waiting for DH's. And he will get 2 because he switched jobs last year. Grrr. I did call the IRS and a very nice man helped me sort out what we will have to do with the 401K that DH borrowed against. Now we have to pay penalties for early disbursement and without the stupid W2s I don't know if we will owe, break even, or get a little paltry refund.

Although I got my dh's W2 last week, I can't file until the IRS releases form 8863 (education credit) to online tax efilers. :furious: It was SUPPOSED to be available by the end of the month or the 1st of Feb.

They said the delay in the Lifetime college credit tax form was because of Katrina.. WTH?? hmmmm... (tries to draw a line between the hurricain disaster, and tax credit for college students)

Most years I am waiting at the mailbox because we can't wait for it to come so we can get it filed and get our refund. It's usually already spent. This year though it didn't matter, even though we are using it for a new mattress and maybe a bedroom set, if it's enough, we can't purchase those things until our house is built(we haven't even started). Plus on Monday we are closing on our house and walking out of there with around $100,000 so a couple thousand from our tax refund doesn't seem so much anymore. :lmao: Course that $100,000 gets eaten up really quick with buying land, paying off debt and building a new house. :confused3 Anyway, my point is this. This is the first year that our W2 actually even came in Jan. Usually we get it the first mail day in Feb. :sad2: It came today and I am doing my taxes right now.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Honestly, I work for a 50 person company. I am in charge of issuing the W2's and it can be a PITA! We do have a software program but it never seems to run the forms correctly the first time and always needs tweaking. I am the only employee that performs this task and I usually wait until mid month when the workload is lighter. I cannot tell you how many employees call asking if the W2's are ready. We had one former employee call on 1/3 and ask if they were done. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
I'm still shaking my head over that one.

I can understand your frustration but I just wanted to give you the "other side of the story". :rolleyes1

we are waiting for one more from our former mortgage company. I want to file and get my refund!
