The I must be totaly carzy solo 2009 trip report, WDW Day 3

Once I entered Disneyland park I headed up Main Street USA.

Then I proceed to the entrance of Pirates of the Caribbean to see if I could find Jamie and Ronda waiting for me, I couldn't find them there so I went to the Blue Bayou to see of they had checked in. They had, the hostess was nice enough to let me look around to see if I could find them.

I eventually did find them, although they were half way through there meal. Once I sat down and joined them the waiter came over and handed me a menu, but I just told him that all I wanted was a Monte Cristo sandwich and a Coke.

No cliffhangers when it involves ME. :lmao:

Do you want me to post the food pics I took?

After Lunch I headed over to the land of construction walls that is know as Disney's California Adventure, with Jaime and Ronda. Once there we met up with there two travailing companions who complained about how long they were. After deciding not to ride California Screamn' we headed over to Grizzly River Run (GRR). On the way I got a picture of the mural on the golden dreams theater as it will be gone in the near future as it makes way for the little mermaid attraction.

After getting wet on GRR we headed to the Grand Californian entrance to DCA where we parted ways, they headed to their room well I headed over to the Disneyland hotel to find out where my room was.

OK here's something wired I just did to make my final payment a little more manageable I went from a 7 day hopper ticket to a one day ticket. Now I need to get a six day hopper any one know of somewhere I can get one for a good price?

Here's the food from our Blue Bayou lunch!

We have a lunch date at 1:50 with EastYorkDisneyFan, Thomas. Thomas and I met back in 2006 when a bunch of us went in together on a Wishes Cruise. The problem with one of those cruises is the noise from the boat – conversation is not easy. Thomas and I have managed to miss each by 1 day on at least 1 trip a year ever since! 2009 puts us in Disneyland and Disneyworld on the same day. 2 Possible Thomas meetings!

Thomas is flying in today. And he’s late for lunch. I’m hoping it isn’t that his flights are delayed. I don’t have a cell phone. I let the check in desk know we were short a person and wanted to wait a little while.

Rhonda and I sat and waited and considered our options. We’re not super hungry (stupid soup bowls!) but I don’t want to miss the chance to eat at the Blue Bayou…

About 2:20, we just checked in. I made sure to let everyone know that our third might still show up. Rhonda and I decided maybe to split something. We ended up splitting the crab cake entrée - Succulent pan-seared Crab Cakes, topped with her-citrus beurre bland and mango slaw. With Blue Bayou potatoes and seasonal vegetables. $30.99

Here’s my half of the salad

And the whole crab cake entrée.

As we’re eating, I hear, "Jaime?" from behind me. Yea, Thomas made it!

The waiter goes to hand him the menu, but good Dis’ser that he is, Thomas just gives him his order.

Le Special de Monte Cristo - Turkey, ham, and Swiss cheese in a battered egg bread, lightly fried to a golden brown. With Blue Bayou potatoes and seasonal vegetables. $21.99

We chat and it was traffic from LAX that threw Thomas’ schedule out of whack. I’m just so glad that #1 he made it and #2 I knew his last name so I could get the table before he got there.

For dessert, Rhonda and I again split - The Flying Dutchman Cookie Boat - Warm chocolate chip cookie boat, served with Dreyer's vanilla-bean ice cream, caramel and chocolate sauce $8.99

And Thomas ordered the Tortuga Trio of Cremé Brulee - Chocolate, passion fruit and vanilla-bean custards, caramelized and served with Brittany cookies $7.99

However, I believe he got 2 vanilla and 1 chocolate – that’s the way the waiter said it came.

$8,000 later, we head over to DCA – we are late to meet back up with the girls!

Thanks for posting that. By the way did you know that just as we didn't in 2006 we have no photos of each other. Unless you want to count the pictures you have of my hands.

So lets see on with report.
When I returned to the hotel my room was ready. This time I was in the magic tower. On my previous trip back in August of 2008 I had booked a standerd view room but got upgraded to one of the corner rooms facing the park on the top floor of the Dreams Tower. Like I said this time I was in the Magic tower this time I had a view of the city, but if I looked to my right I had a different view.

After getting my bags brought up by bell services, I headed back to the elevator to head back over to the parks again. I actually ended up on the elevator with the bell services person who brought up my luggage, I had a somewhat odd experience with him in the elevator, he pulled out a his tips and was counting it in front of me, now just so you know I was going to tip him but I forgot tip do it in the room, so I reached in to my wallet and handed him a five. He was actually kind of talkative and asked me what brought me to Disneyland so I told him that I was here for a Disney Fan gathering. When I stepped out of the elevator I turned to go out the back door where I saw Jamie in the gift shop with her crew, we had a bit of a laugh about weather or not this was staking. After parting ways with her I headed into Disneyland again to ride some things that i had missed when I was there last August. I started off with Peter Pan, which is much different then the WDW version, and it doesn't have fastpass to mess up the line. Then I headed over to Small World which was closed for a refeb when I was there last. I get there and who do I encounter again but Jamie. After a brief chat with her I headed in to the line for Small World well I was in the line I saw the clock on the front of small world do it's thing.

Link to the video I took

After ridding small world (I was actully in the same boat as John Stamos, Uncle Jsessie from Full House, sorry no picture I decided to respect his privacy) I went to go and find the entrance to Frontierland. Once I found it I took a ride on Big Thunder Mountain, then I headed back to Fantasyland where I got in line for Alice in Wonderland, well I was in line I saw parts of the new parade in Disneyland (if you can call it a parade, it was more of a rolling show that would stop a perform for about 20 minutes before going on to the next stop). After that It was time to leave the park for the first meet of WestFest, Podfest West at the lost bar in the grounds of the Disneyland Hotel. Unfortunately Main Street USA was a mess, because of the parade so to help out with traffic they had opened up one of the gates on the right side of main street facing the train station to allow those that were trying to exit the park (The store on Main Street aren't linked together like they are in the Magic Kingdom), any way this path took us right beside the storage spur for the Jungle cruise so you could just see a couple of boats sitting out in the open, I came back onto Main street where the horse drawn trolleys enter. Once back on ain Street I head out of the park and back to the Disneyland Hotel.

Once I got to the Lost Bar I saw people that I knew by voice or from picture that I had seen of them online. How do you introduce yourself to people like that became my problem which on lasted maybe about 20 minutes or so. After that I decided to just go for it and start introducing myself to some of the smaller groups first, Gradually I ended up meeting more people like Josh and Keegen (the Teenage Disney Geek from the Adventure's of the Teenage Disney Geek Podcast). After a while the group moved to the outside of the bar where more people had shown up. We had some fun tossing around a stuffed monkey that had ended up in someone's paints the previous year (it was washed and microwaved several times). At one point it ended up in the gutter on the roof of the bar, lucky the Teenage Disney Geek was there to rescue him. If you think this is sounding wired, just wait until I post about the Island meet. :rotfl2:

I ended up- leaving there at 1:00 Am LA time which would have been 4:00 Am in Toronto, so at this point I had been up for about 24 hours at this point. As soon as I got back to my hotel room as I was going to get up early for Rope Drop at Disneyland.

So I got up and after showering I headed over to Disneyland where the crowds were gathering to be let on to Main Street before rope drop. I looked around to see if I could see anyone from that I had meet last night from The DPN. I didn't see anyone there so I just got into the shortest line I saw. Once the gates where open I headed to the bakery on Main Street where I got a Cafe Mocha and one of the Cinnamon Rolls. Next I headed out on to Main Street where I saw the first of many DPN people standing on the other side of the street. After a little bit a few more members showed up and hung out with us well we waited for them to drop the rope. Once they opened the rest of the park a group of us headed in to Fantasyland where we headed on to Peter Pan, one of the people I was with joked about how one time he showed them a FastPass for Peter Pan in WDW the cast members where shocked that it uses FastPass there. After that we headed over to Snow white and stopped at the Sword in the stone for some odd pictures (if you are on Face Book you can check out the picture of me from there on my page here.) After that we headed over to its a small world again. This time I was in the front with Josh, the two of us decided to try and drum along with the song to keep us from going nuts.
