DOn't worry about it KAt. DO the updates when you can. I was hoping to have mine done by the time I went back to work, but since that happens on Wednesday I don't think it will be done since I am only on day 5 of a 10 day trip

So we were in the car on the way to WDW when I last left you…..

We left mid day and it turned out awesome, no traffic at all! I got to see the exciting scenic view of Florida up I-4…that was sarcasm…. It was pretty and green but not much to see really. I saw the Tampa skyline, all 4 buildings or so of it . I saw some cows. We saw Dinosaur World. H was all over that, she wants to go. There are creepy dinos peeping through the trees…and of course the camera was in the trunk! We also saw what L & M dubbed the “world’s biggest b.o.o.b.i.e.s”, these two fleshy colored dome shaped things. She told me what they were but I can’t remember now for some reason.

It took us about 50 minutes to get to WDW property. Then we got lost. I have never had to navigate a car through property before so we missed the turn off for good old Pop Century. That meant we had to go faaaaaar to turn around. We did eventually figure it out (about 15 minutes later) and were pulling in to my home for a few days . When we got to the guard at the entrance he surprisingly asked for my name to look up the reservation. That has never happened before to us, I was glad they cared and just don’t let anyone through. We parked and lugged all my carp into the lobby. I set up my friends at a bench and went to check in.

No wait later there I was being checked in. I had a room request to be as close to the 60s as possible. When he mentioned that and realized I was about to get put into building 2 (furthest from everything!) he told me to wait a second and he made a phone call. He asked me if the 70s building would be ok with me, and I told him as long as it was an upper floor it would be great! 2 minutes later he had me set up and heading to a room in the 70s building. Score! I knew exactly where I was going because when DH & I had stayed here we always turned at “the big wheel building”.

I was on the 4th floor in room:

I unpacked and tried to organize myself for a while and the troops watched some TV. I am one of those people that has to settle in first to be comfortable. I also decorated my window. I always like to have a little something for the window.

It was about time for us to hit the road and get to our one and only ADR together, 1900 Park Fare. I wasn’t too sure if H would be into it but when I asked L she told me “h%^L yes!” I had wanted to try the dinner here, as I’d only had breakfast here before and the menu looked good.

Now I must explain M. He is a great dad to H, a sweet hubby to L, but he hates Disney (I KNOW!). So getting him to come when KC wasn’t even here was a feat in itself, and he did it for H and for me because I asked him to. That being said we hopped onto a MK bound bus to start our travels…

We were lucky and it was only a light drizzle so far. We went to the monorail and got right onto one with no wait. We had our moment for KC (Por favor mantenganse allejado de los puertas) and were quickly at the beautiful Grand Floridian. None of them had ever been and watching them see it for the first time was great for me!

We checked into 1900 and were waiting with a bunch of other people for the first dinner seating of the night. We got a seat close to where you enter, which was fine with me because it’s not that big in there as it is. We placed a quick drink order and were on our way to the buffet!

On this plate: salmon, paella, chicken, pork, seafood salad and of course my bowl of Strawberry Soup (which we all loved)

My 2nd plate (hey I was hungry from traveling...yea thats it):chicken, pork w/ cherry relish (I loved this stuff), beef & broccoli, edamame salad, seafood salad

I forgot the pic of the deserts! They were yummy tho. I remember some ice cream, chocolate mouse and a key lime tart.

Ok now for the good part- the characters! They do the cute announcements as each character comes out in about 10 minute increments. They were really well organized and each followed the same pattern around the room.
First up was Prince Charming. H was so shy it was adorable. He took her by the hand and called her princess and twirled her around and back into the seat. He was GREAT!

As we waited for Cindy L & I commented on how beautiful her dress was so I snapped this:

Then she came to the table. She was very sweet speaking to H, who I guess because Daddy was there was uncharacteristically shy.

Then the step sisters were next! They were a riot! Great job for them both. They played and joked with H a lot!

I love this one!!!!She peeked out just in time to be in the pic!

Then the evil step mother made her way over and H was a bit freaked. She was worried she was going to get "yelled at" by her. We assured her she’s only mean to Cinderella.

I couldn’t resist so I asked her if she would pose with M. He did his best meanie face! L didn’t know she got in the pic but it was a priceless moment none the less! I got the anti Disney guy in a character pic! My night was complete right then!!!!

So we finished up and headed out. I took a few shots of the GF. My fav by far is this one:

We made the trek back to Pop and decided what to do from there…it was only about 7pm at the time.

Great Update Kat! Next September when the family goes the girls have asked for a Princess meal and after checking out menus decided 1900 was the best for my picky crew. I can't wait to try the stramberry soup but I bet they won't !!!! Thank goodness they all like salad , chicken fingers and macaroni and cheese so they will be set at most buffets !!

Well look at you, Tricky McTrickerson... changing your report title. Good thing subscriptions carryover despite name changes or I'd have missed this! The look on the wicked stepmother's face is priceless. And I can see why H is your favorite kid in the world... how adorable is she?!? Prince Charming, I gotta say, looks a bit nerdy to me. Maybe he was better in person? And I wonder why I'm still single? Holy picky, I am!

Hey- I'm staying at Pop in Dec. What do I need to request in terms of room? I won't have a car so I'll be using the bus. Not sure if it will be warm enough to care about the pool...probably not. I bow to your expertise.

We've never been to 1900 Park Fare... I think after reading Janet's TR and now yours, I'm almost ready to do the ADR shuffle and add it into our schedule. Those step sisters look crazy and of course, who can resist Prince Charming?

There was plenty of normal food and then a good selection of semi exotic food. H had a whole huge plate herself and she's touch and go as far as food goes.

LOL. You cracked me up!!! I just figured I'd make the new name because I am onto the TR part now....Plus every time I mention the trip or think of it in comparison to others trips I say "I didn't get to do that" "I forgot about that" but it was one of the best trips ever for so many other reasons!

My DH says Prince Charming looks like Sylar from Heros....

Let's see...Pop. I found a very useful Pop thread on the resorts board and it had maps with color coded areas of whats preferred and standard, that helped some. I like the 70s I think it's right in the middle. it's a short walk to the main building and also u can cut around the other way and go just to the bus stops through the parking lot too!
