The Hyena Chat thread: Everyone's welcome!

I had no idea. :lmao:

What do you think of "location" names, like Memphis or Montana?

Mmmmm.. I dont know. Sheesh. I am not so good at this. :lmao: have I mentioned that we didnt decide on Mikalahs name until she was born? :lmao:

Hollywood Video -- old news I think, they downsized a few years ago

Levitz-- closed shop awhile ago aorund here

Sharper Image-- old news, gradually closed stores. Will have online store and a a few flagship stores only.

Performance Team Freight --- Never heard of em

Linens n Things ** Can't remember which one, but they have already been liquidating the stores. Closed a few. I heard they are no longer taking the competitor coupons. But they are only at 10% off at some locations - meh, not worth it. Keep an eye on their online stores for deals :thumbsup2

Bed, Bath and Beyond ** see above

Circuit City --- Closed a few locations a year ago. Haven't heard anything recent. They typically suck as far as prices go -- unless you find clearance mixed in with current product. ;)

We still have most of these stores here. :confused3
Except for the Performance Team Freight, I've never heard of them, either.

I drove by the local Linens and Things last week with DS8, and he noticed their Going Out of Business sign up, we were so surprised!

Levits closed down a few months ago. We have Hollywood Video... I dont know what else.

The only Levitz I ever went to was the one in Tukwila, but that was years ago. :confused3

We had one here in Lakewood.. We went in once, and the guy followed us around like we were going to steal something. A recliner maybe? :lmao: I dont know.. But we never went back. If it wasnt right on the freeway, we would have never noticed it close down.

Some are just restructuring, closing certain locations.
I read on other boards.. some coupon board and on Slick Deals.. The list has been around for awhile, emailed to various people over and over. True info but some of them are not closing entirely. Depends on what type of bankruptcy.

Disney Store was on a list with the ones you listed.. but that related to the ones they closed over the summer, when they took ownership back from Children's Place.

Our local Hollywood Video has managed to stay open. Blockbuster is not in our suburb, bet if they moved in things would change
The manager called hubby: " yeah, I umm noticed you haven't been in for awhile"

Eloy: uhhh yeah.

Manager: umm yeah, I'll waive any late fees and give ya a free rental.
Just come in.

Eloy: uhhh okay

:lmao: So he picked up his free rental, haven't been back. RedBox with a free code sounds sooooooooo much better.

We just do Netflix.. It is just easier! no late fees ever, which is what tends to get us.. :rolleyes1 We SUCK at returning movies.

We put sticky notes on the door to remind us

Take the movie back!

Blockbuster (by mail) was nice, being able to switch them out in the store and still get more rentals off your que. Sweet deal but I think they made it harder to do it on the cheapest subscription. The turn around on movies was very fast , people were flipping movies and get new ones mailed out-- I htink Blockbuster was losing money on it. Now they limit it to x per month to exchange. Darn they got smart. :teacher:

We've watched movies online too-- you know .. the ones in Chinese with the english subtitles.. really grainy picture and you can hear people talking in the background. :rolleyes1

Yeah..... hmmm... We can watch movies online from Netflix. Hubby watched all the other seasons of heroes.

darn, I had found a baby name site that was easy to use.. now I can't find it.
You enter a name, it finds variants of that one from various countries and lists the meaning. etc.

Cool site, darn it!

WOOHOO!!! One of my best friends just gave notice today!

She's been so unhappy at her job, and working MASSIVE hours with no end in sight. She has three young children and was basically missing out on their childhood, going to work before they're up and getting home well after they're in bed.

She was very nervous, but did it anyway, and she is OVER THE MOON happy now! :cloud9:

Think i will be to uncomfortable to go? Probably. DANG. I need to buy Monster Jam tickets for the menfolk.. and the girl.
Another of my best friends goes to this every year. I went one year, many years ago. It was probably smaller then, because she describes so many things that I didn't see back then.

It will be a lot of walking/standing, don't you think? How are you doing with that these days?

Good for her! :thumbsup2
I tell ya. We've been worried sick about her, because she was only getting about 3 hours of sleep a night, was so stressed all the time. Somehow she wsa still a sane person and a fantastic mom WHEN she was with the kids, but it's just too much for any one person to try to handle. I am sooo glad she is quitting, and so glad her husband has been so supportive through her crazy hours, and continues to be so when she said she had to get out!
