The Hyena Chat thread: Everyone's welcome!

:lmao: You will love this.. Hubby laughed all the way home.

so.. We were at Costco today, and I was waddling pretty good. My back hurt, and I SWEAR that I have gotten bigger since yesterday. My belly is SORE. So sore. The skin is so stretched and tight, it just freaking hurts, OKAY?

Anyhoo. I was waddling through the store, and NOT finding what I wanted.. getting stressed, hot and very annoyed. This woman stops, and gives me this super sympathetic look... Well, at least you dont have much longer, huh? :scared1: :scared1: Are you freaking KIDDING ME??? AM I REALLY THAT BIG?????   I almost knocked her the F OUT. :lmao:
Oh.

My.

:rotfl2:

Did you shriek, "IT'S TWINS, YOU MORON!!!" ??? :lmao:

At least you could laugh; knowing how I was when pregnant, I probably would have bawled! :lmao:

I find my gigantorness fairly amusing. The one thing really gets me upset is that fact that I cant do anything. After going to Target to return the costume, and then Subway for breakfast...(where the girl made my sandwich EXTRA huge for me..;) ) and then Costco looking for the stupid tortillas that Melody told us about.. and I HAD seen before, but they dont have any more. I was so beat, I needed a nap.

and I am SO SLOW. My husband has just started telling me to wait where I am. He will get what we need.. Because I am SO SLOW! :lmao: Thats kinda funny. Mikalah can now out run me, which she has never been able to do before. and I think she knows it. :scared1: :rotfl2:

If anyone was curious...

From the book Meatless Gourmet by Bobbie Hinman

Pumpkin- Almond Custard
Makes 6 servings

1 lb can pumpkin (pure not pie filling)
3 egg whites (I used 2 whole eggs instead)
1/2 c skim milk (or other milk sub, almond milk is delish!)
1/2 c packed brown sugar (or mixture of sugar sub and the brown sugar)
1 T molasses (skipped, does give it a deeper flavor)
1 tsp almond extract ( I might increase it or add vanilla too)
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cloves ( maybe a tad more and less cinnamon)

350 degree oven
Oil a 1 qt baking dish
Combine all together, beat on low with electric mixer, continue to beat 1 minute more. Pout into dish.

Topping: (I usually skip it)
2 tsp brown sugar, packed, 1/4 tsp cinnamon - mix together.
Sprinkle 2 T slivered almonds on the top of the custard, sprinkle surface with sugar/cinnamon mixture.
Bake uncovered 1 hour.

Cool half hour before serving, refrige leftovers.

If you use the recipe as written.. 152 calories, 2 g fat (0 g sat fat)

Gotta find the humor when things aren't quite perfect.

:goodvibes

Oh dear! No taking advantage of mommy!! :rotfl:

I find if I use the cheap pumpkin-- it doesn't look as pretty, too brown.

Libby's 100% pure pack is the way to go :thumbsup2

She ran off in Costco, well... not off, she went to follow her dad. I REALLY contemplated just letting her go. :sad2: But I ended up getting her. ;)

One of those heart stopping -- get back here! kinda moments?
It took until very recently to let the boys wander off to games. At first they HAD to go together, even into the bathroom.
N usually hangs with me or his dad.. of course J is too old to hang with us now :snooty: :lmao:

I get to play "hunt the guys down every aisle" game everytime we go together now. They are easier to find then I am! :rolleyes1

No... it wasnt bad. I was watching her, and she was just kinda walking away. Im gonna find daddy.

NO. No you arent.

We argued like that as she slowly walked away from me. I waddled out there and grabbed her when she tried to get herself run over by a stocker. :lmao:

sis has been dealing with her middle son wandering out of the house.

He wandered out of the yard, she went looking for him. Neighbor stopped by and said he had noticed him inside someone's house playing with a dog. And the people weren't even home!!
Neighbor told him it wasn't okay , he took off.
He was wandering home on the sidewalk a bit later.

She told him it wasn't okay, then said it was against the rules and "the cops might arrest you" -- very stern lecture.. the mention of police and rules was enough to hit home.

I seriously think she needs a child locator on him and alarms on the doors. :sad2:

He has no sense of self regulating behaviors, he gets a thought in his head .. and he needs to comply regardless of the consequences. He has a current fascination with dogs, running up to dogs that they do not know and trying to pet them. Which is likely why he went inside the house.

 Ummmm... YEAH! Yeah she does! If I had a runner, I would have that child locater thingy, and some alarms! My kids arent, thankfully.. But I was.

He ran off a lot more as a younger child, now that he is a bit older it's not as often-- still it happens often enough that I know of two instances in just the last two months.

The door alarms are easy to install, cheap too. I've considered getting those in apartment as a cheap security system-- J showed us how easy it was to move the chain off the door from the outside, he snuck in one night instead of stying overnight at a friend. Freaked me out when I saw him asleep in bed.

I found one child locator device $178, reasonable cost and I bet they can take it out of his county funds instead of paying out of pocket.

Absolutely! How scary! gosh, it just freaks me right out.

Kids. :headache: its good thing they are cute, huh?

Dang it. I haven't fallen asleep... just yet. :sad2:
I better get to bed before I crash. Good night. :cloud9:
