Well, Dreams month over; I hope as many of you as possible received a prize.

Throughout the month, I have pondered over some way to share the untradeable prizes. The hosts have been nice enough to gift "extra" ears to other players when they could, and I thank them for that; I'm sure it was a lot of extra work. (How much simpler it would have been to make these available to everyone on the last day, but oh well....)

There's no changing the fact that the new pins and ears can only be used by one person. A Dreams room, on the other hand can be shared by lots of people. I had planned if I won the room to open it to as many as I could. I didn't win, but I finally realized that it doesn't matter so much who the room belongs to; I just enjoy spending time there because it is so beautiful.

So with that in mind, I thought of a way for those who are interested to spread that enjoyment around. I would like to start a hub for Castle Suite owners to place a teleporter in, if they care to make their room available when they are not on. I would link this room to another one, in which any players who would like to have access could place their own teleporter. People would not have to clutter up their Castle Suite with multiple teleporters this way.

What do you all think? If I get a good response to this, I will start making a list of those who would like to be added to the hub.

im in just let me know ive had alot of ppl ask to put teleporters in my room but that would not make alot of room in there bc it is so small so i like this idea

Absolutely! That is the whole point of it; for players who do not have the room to be able to come spend time in a Castle Suite, without having to search for one on the popular rooms list and wait in a huge line. Just enter the hub and pick a door!

Of course, the more Suites we can make available, the easier it will be for players to do this. Once one of these rooms is open, they do tend to fill up quickly.

I am working on the hub now and hope to have it open in a day or so.

Incidently, Samariah found that a Tron teleporter can be mostly hidden behind one of the pillars, for those of you Suite owners who don't like the look of a teleporter in the room.

Okay, I am stunned. Yesterday, I received a cryptic message from EngineerTiger (our master builder wizard of the Blue Castle) to put a gold door in the Great Hall of the castle. Then, he said, ask aliceblue. Naturally curious, I messaged aliceblue and was informed "It's a surprise, I'll let you know when it is ready." I get on today and receive the "It's ready" message. So, I go through my little gold door and end up in two lovely rooms of aliceblue. "Hmm, very nice. Aliceblue's usual great job." Then I step on the Tron teleporter and find myself in the Castle Suite room. Since Aurora has been my favorite princess since I was a tiny princess myself, you can imagine what this means to me.

I was so busy at work yesterday, I didn't read many threads on the DIS and missed this entirely. It works both ways. For those who want to see the Blue Castle and never can catch me in VMK, you are more than welcome to wander back through the gold door and explore anytime.

Thank you so much aliceblue for setting this up. A huge mahalo (I grew up in Hawaii and mahalo means so much more than thank you) to hppv5 for your generosity in sharing this room with the rest of us. It is so very kind of you and I know that I'm not the only little VMK fairy who is happy to share in your generosity.

I would be happy to add my Castle Suite- Bugs Castle Suite of Memories but want to know if I can do it after I get back from WDW. I will be back Oct. 15th. Just would rather be here in case any problems in the room. Let me know if this is ok.

Lots of dreams were crushed on Sunday, Due to the fact i Do not think it is fair that one player could obtain 3 to 5 Dream ears. Myself in fact didnt recieve ANYTHING from staff. Its like they are playing favorites. Congrats on anyone who got the ears, But they should have sold the dream stuff in the first stuff to prevent crushed dreams.

Folks, I do understand the disappointment many of you experienced who did not receive any Dreams items. This thread is an attempt to make something positive out of the limited release of the Castle Suite; so that players who love that room can easily enjoy it even if they don't own one themselves. So let's keep this thread upbeat, and just be grateful for teleporters and generous Disers who are willing to share.

Even though I am not putting in a teleporter, I would just like to thank Samariah and Bug for volunteering their rooms. That's a very generous thing to do. Also, AliceBlue you have such great talent for designing. Thanks for taking the time to share your talents with us. It's things like this that made dreams month special for me.

I've had some additional thoughts about the Castle Suite arrangements, for those who might be on the fence about adding their room.

There's no need for each Castle Suite to be accessible all day, as long as it's open when the owner isn't on. It would be fine to lock it when using it with friends, and then unlock it before leaving or logging off.

Well, if VMK truly did not want us to be anyone's room when they were not present, they never would have given us teleporters.

Seriously though, I remember the newsletter you are referring to, and that statement was actually removed. (I remember posting in a discussion about it somewhere; I'll see if I can dig it up.)

Update: I did some research, and that statement was in the "VMK Top 5 FAQs" section of a newsletter from either June 12 or 18 of this year:

2. What if the Room Owner is not in their room?

Room owners don't have to be in their room, but if a room owner is not in their room you should leave the room and return when they are present. This way you avoid any trouble (like being scammed) and it's against VMK Values to be in a room when the owner's not present.

Within a day or two, #2 in the FAQs had been changed to something completely different:

2. Can you tell me about the VMK Staff? Who are they?

Despite their appearance, VMK staff members are NOT kids but actually adults trained specifically to handle VMK. VMK Staff may look like you in the game (with cool Mickey ears) but they're actually more like school teachers - in fact, many of the VMK Staff are teachers, or have been teachers, which is why they choose to be VMK Staff: because they like to teach and help kids.

With that said, VMK Staff should be treated like you would treat a school teacher: with respect. Because although the VMK Staff is there to help and keep you safe, they also must step in when you're not playing safely or following the VMK Values or game guidelines.

Also keep in mind the VMK Staff are very, very busy working to keep you safe and make sure VMK runs smoothly - so while it's ok to say hello, ask for a picture or some cool magic, don't be rude to them, misbehave or report false information. If you do, you could get banned and in VMK bans are like being sent to the principal's office - and nobody wants that.

VMK Staff are adults trained to help you and keep the community safe - so please treat them with respect. In fact, treat EVERYONE in VMK with respect; it's more fun to play that way.

The statement about not being in a room when the owner isn't present has never appeared again, in any of the newsletters.
