The day with the bad rain and crowds

Today was one of those days that make a day in Disney an absolute nightmare. The weather was appalling for most of the day and the crowds were massive. It makes us feel all the more lucky for having the time we did at the beginning of the week. On our walk from the hotel to the park we met a couple and their small child in a pram going to Cafe Mickey for a character breakfast. It was dry and cold then and the man only had a t-shirt on. They had catered for all of the child’s needs but forgot their own. I bet they regretted it as the morning went on and the heavens opened!!

We knew that it was a public holiday in France today so we planned accordingly. We all wanted to see the shows in the Studios one last time and I told the kids it would be very difficult to go on any rides today due to the crowds. We got to the Studios and they had already opened the front lot doors to allow you to go to your first destination. The last time we went they did the whole build up to the opening, have they stopped that or was it because it was so busy. We passed the queue for Crush, which was massive. We headed for the Cars ride, one of our favourites. By the time had done our ride just after 1000 Crush was already broken!

A hot chocolate was our next objective before we headed to Animagique. We timed it just right as the doors opened but the queue was pretty big. We were lucky and managed to sit right in the middle again. This time though the theatre was absolutely packed. The show was absolutely brilliant once again. When the show was over it was a quick dash across to Cinemagique. This was also pretty full. It was obviously going to be the order of the day.
DD really wanted to see Stitch Live again and when we came out of Cinemagique there was only 10 minutes to the next English showing. This time the experience was so much better. I think the fact that the CM was a lot more confident and played the part really well. This time Andy from England was the villain.

We had decided that there was little else we wanted to see in the Studios and with the rain and queues we decided to head back to the main Park for some lunch. We had decided upon Au Chalet de la Marionnettebecause it was described as serving Bavarian specialties but it turned out to be basically burgers. DW then suggested having pizza at Bella Notre. Once we got there the place was packed. Our next plan was to go to the Café Hyperion; surely we could get a seat there? It was absolutely heaving. The mixture of the large crowds and the rain had forced everyone inside. We found some seats so I headed to get the food. 45 minutes later I had successfully negotiated the queue and the buggy park at the bottom of the stairs. The kids were OK though. They had their rolls and cartoons to watch.

It was now gone 1430 and the rain had not relented. The kids were resigned to not getting on anything so we thought we would leave the park, book the Chuck Wagon and pop to Val de Europe to look at the shops.
When we got back to the Cheyenne Jessie was at reception. A real bonus for the kids to get able to get more photos and another autograph in their books.

Val de Europe seems to be a lot harder to find than the last time we went. It was also as busy as the parks. Parking was an adventure and the mall was just heaving. It killed a couple of hours out of the rain though!
After a further couple of hours lazing around in the room it was time for our tea in the Chuck Wagon. We went a little later than last time at 1900. It was also a lot busier and the price had gone up. It was 22.80 Euro and now it was 25.50 Euro!! It was still worth the money though. We all thoroughly enjoyed it again.

When we turned in at 2000 the park still had an hour until closing time. We did wonder if the paraded and show had gone ahead due to the weather. When we went to tea the rain had stopped but it was still windy. It has caught up with us all and an earlier night will do us no harm and we will be full of beans for our last day tomorrow!

It really was a nightmare on Thursday wasn't it! We saw incredible lines for rides . You did well to head for the studios and the shows!:thumbsup2

We were in that Crush queue on Thursday! We were near the front, so by the time it broke down we were stuck inside for 40 minutes :( Just waited it out and got on eventually, bit of a nightmare though! We then did Animagique and Cinemagique, before hiding out in the castle for an hour and the DLH bar for another 2 hours! The rain did calm down at night, it was dryish when we went back to Blue Lagoon at 6pm and only drizzling for the last couple of hours. Parades were running, but we went on some rides :)
Sounds like you made the most of it too! I'm reading your TR out of order, better start at the beginning. its so funny reading about someone else being there at the same time.
