Day 6 – Sunday, 5th August 2007 – MGM and Islands

My eyes were streaming this morning and my head felt tired. I am sure I am allergic to something, presume now it is dust mites because that is all I can think is consistent but felt like I had a cold. We had breakfast in the room before heading out to MGM.

The hubbie lent me his spare sunglasses which helped my eyes. They look that bad that every time I ventured to remove the sunglasses the whole family told me to put them back on!

We were late getting into the park, just by a little bit, so the line for Rock n Rollercoaster was already 30 minutes.

The Hubbie and eldest rode single rider, then I did it with the eldest. The youngest didn’t fancy it because you had to sit next to a stranger. Anyway we fast passed it for later.

They went on Tower of Terror whilst I took some photos.

The last time the eldest did ToT was back in 1998 when he hated it, he now loved it. I hated it too back then but now after going on everything else the theme parks have to offer I don’t think I will find it as scary as I did back then. I will have to try it in 2008.

The Movie Ride was only showing a 10 minute line, it turned out to be about a 25 minute line. I hate it when this happens, as I was shattered the line seemed to take for ages. I had to stop myself falling asleep on it.

We enjoyed the Lights Camera Stunt show, or whatever it is called I always forget. The audience for the show wasn’t as busy as the past two years so it was easy to find a good seat, ie one in the shade, those metal seats can get quite hot. I especially enjoyed the show because I actually watched it for once instead of videoing it.

Afterwards it was time for the Rock n Rollercoaster ride. My head really hurt on the ride must be something to do with being tired because it isn’t normally like this.

We had lunch in the ABC Commissionary which was okay. I had a Cuban sandwich, the hubbie and eldest curry, and the youngest a hamburger. Afterwards we did the Backstreet Tour

and the Sound Show. Again today was really hot – 98, I suggested going back to the hotel for a while.

I was so tired and so hot, back at the hotel that I couldn’t face being in the sun any longer and the cool air conditioned room was where I wanted to be. The hubbie and eldest went down to the pool for a swim and a sunbathe, whilst me and the youngest had a nap. We joined them a couple of hours later, I had a quick dip then it was off back to the rooms to get changed. The eldest went to get himself a strawberry smoothie from the pool bar. I had a sip it was delicious.

After having a nap and a rest I felt tons better. I think I felt so tired because we had been on the go since we arrived and it just caught up with me a bit plus it was extremely hot.

We headed over to Islands and hit The Hulk, Dr Doom x 2 (not me though), River Adventure. The kids and the hubbie did class poses on this ride, I just screamed. Then all of us went on Duelling Dragons. The youngest actually enjoyed it this year as he is quite a lot taller so wasn’t knocked around as much.

I decided to go back and buy the ride photo, it took a little while because the lads behind the desk were trying to capture a large dragonfly that had got in. They managed to trap it behind some books, they were quite funny to watch.

On the way out we had a go on Spiderman, then the kids went back on Dr Doom before we walked back and had a snack. I loved being able to relax and just walk back to the hotel on an evening, it made such a difference to the holiday.

Photos to follow.

shame about your eyes, have you tried taking antihistamines i.e. piriton?

Later on in the holiday I bought some liquid antihistamines and it worked a treat. Back home now and trying to keep the home dust free, tend to sneeze mornings and sometimes at night, don't particularly want to be taking medicines every day though but it is worth it when eyes/nose are bad.

Thanks, I am a bit photo mad. I got a new camera for Christmas and since then have taken 8500 photos.

I definately know what you mean about staying on site.
