The Homestead - Hot Springs, WV- Budget hotel

Hi Dis'ers! We're looking for a budget hotel near The Homestead resort or Hot Springs, WV area. We have to go for a wedding and will stay the night of the wedding at the resort, but I'm looking for something much less expensive for the prior night. The rates at The Homestead are $349/night, plus tax!

Any recommendations for inexpensive hotels/motels around that area? We are willing to drive a bit outside the immediate Homestead area to get a budget-friendly hotel.

There are essentially no motels in the area. Many inns/b&b tupe places. The closest chain hotels will be in Covington.

True. We've stayed at the resort twice and have only seen B&B places nearby. I'd pay the to stay there both nights and have fun in the pools and take advantage of the included amenities like games, tea time, movies, etc. Also be aware that there are really no other eateries besides those in the resort. We ate a lot of food from the marketplace to save money.

Actually, The Homestead is in Hot Springs, Virgina, not West Virginia.
