DW and I set out to the airport early on the 23rd of Dec to check in and get through security. We were cautioned that with the holidays all seats were booked, so get there extra early, so we did. We were there just over two hours before our flight was to depart, then there was a delay with the plane that should have arrived from Phillidelphia for us to get on to Orlando. Our flight left 2.5 hours late, so we painfully waited for 4.5 hours to see Mickey before we got onto the plane, the whole time planes were flying out all around us.
We finally arrived at the Polynesian at 5pm, this was a bummer because we only were staying there for one night before we tranferred over to SSR. We did the early check in over the phone a week before, it was very convenient, I just went to the desk and gave my name and they brought over my packet and room keys and I just had to sign the check in forms and away we went to the room at Tuvalu. It was a gorgeous room on the end(#3405) . From our balcony to our left was the luau and the GF with wedding pavilion which my DW loved, straight ahead was the castle and SM, and to our rightish was the CR. The view was worth every penny. Being stuck in the airport left us a little famished, so we went to the bar at the main building.
: We sampled the ginger and honey wings and the bread baskets. My DW had her first experience with the almighty Lapu Lapu, she loved them, but she decided to stop at one and switched to Coke because she wanted to see the fireworks. After the long day it may have been early to bed after 2 Lapu Lapu's. I stayed with one of my WDW fav's Amber Boch on tap. We set our watch alarm to alert us when to head back to the room to view Holowishes and the EWP from the balcony of our room. The alarm went off so we settled up our tab and headed back to the room. The view was
We really needed that to start our long overdue vacation, it was like our own privite WDW for a night. We sat and enjoyed the view for another couple hours until we started to fall asleep on the balcony, then headed in to bed to rest up for the week in the world. Next up Day 2 switching resorts (which now after doing, I am not a fan of) and our first full day in the world.
