I don't think he actually did. I read a court official is saying the person sitting behind the bench isn't one of their judges and it was filmed after hours. Looks like staged drama on the part of MTV to me.

Spencer's quote is also a lie as there was no legal marriage.

It seems like all the drama with Heidi & Spencer (and her family) is a ploy for them to get their own show. They are my least favorite part of The Hills- even if it is scripted, I can't help watching
