The Hersheypark Thread

Following along. We're making our first trip in May for a soccer tournament. Not sure how much park time we'll actually have, but I'm sure the kids will have fun.

I have had a season pass since 2016 and one of my favorite parks to visit. I am really looking forward to Candymonium opening and am expecting it will become my favorite ride in the park. I also like how there is a great ride variety. There are tamer rides like the monorail, Kissing Tower, cars, train, some more thrilling non coaster like rides like the Triple Towers and Claw and there some milder coasters as well as major thrill coasters.

My current favorite rides are Comet, sooperdooperLooper, Great Bear, Storm Runner, Reese's Cupfusion and Coal Cracker.

I went last summer for the first time in about 35 years. The only coasters I remember from back then were the Comet, SuperDooperLooper, Runaway Train, and maybe a smaller portable type steel one.

Comet is still very good after all these years. Liked Skyrush and the twin wooden racing coaster. The other wooden one (Wildcat?) was too rough. I skipped about half of the new-to-me steel coasters because I'm too old for them.

DW and I were overjoyed that they have an old childhood favorite, The Whip!!!

Looking forward to the new coaster under construction but will probably wait another year or two to visit again.

The park is hilly in spots and has a weird layout due to various expansions over the years. The older original part got uncomfortably cramped even with only a moderate sized crowd.

The preview plan for the evening before is great!!

I am in!! We used to take our kids every year when they were little. We are now planning a trip with our son and our grandkids!!

Our favorite park outside of Disney. We live an hour away and are season pass holders. Cannot WAIT to see the new additions for 2020!!!!

Hi, I live 5 minutes from Hersheypark. My first visit was when I was 10 days old and I’ve been visiting every year since then, so 40 years.

We’ve enjoyed watching the progression of the front entrance and addition of Candymonium. We just drove by last weekend and things are coming along nicely, but there is still a lot of work to be done. I’m curious if the new entrance will be open for Springtime in the Park or if they’ll use the same entrance they used for Candylane.

I will be in Hersey, PA at the end of March for a class. Sadly Hersey Park will be closed.
im looking for hotel and dining recommendations

We don't go that often in the summer, but we love to go for Hersheypark Candylane during Nov. or Dec. :)
However, with the addition they're adding, we'll have to go again for a summer trip, I think!

Oh, and my kids enjoy Zoo America, too.

Thanks for having this thread! We've just decided to take a trip to Hershey next summer - I'm excited to start planning for a 'brand new' (to me) park and part of the country. :)

Has anyone gone this season yet? How was the experience ? Have you found protocols of masks and Social distancing to be enforced?

We have been there 3 times now. Two "park" days and a day at the shore\boardwalk. Both times we experienced very low crowds, mask compliance, and seriously good customer service from all of the employees we interacted with. We had zero complaints with anything.

As a side note, masks are not required in the waterpark if you are on a water ride, or walking to one. You do have to wear one of you are just sitting in a lounge chair or just walking around. We had a cabana so plenty of room for distancing and such. In the main waterpark areas, they really reduced the number of chairs and had them separated pretty well. Security was visible and making sure people were masked up on a regular basis.

We had a great time on all the trips and I'd recommend going now. Also, at least the 3 times we were there, the crowds were very low. Almost a walk on for all attractions I including the new coaster, Candymonium. The only waits we had were cup fusion and laff track and even those were only 15-20 minutes.
