Is EMH worth it?[/QUOTE]

I don't know why you wouldn't want to do Extra-Money Hours? 10 Disney Dollars to every resort guest seemls like a good enough reason to get up early to me....

I thought it meant Exspensive Mickey Hats. You know like the scorecer hat in mgm and all.....hmm I guess I'm not the king of hats.

Usually not -- hits about 75 most days. If it gets to hot, go to Animal Kingdom -- lots of indoor stuff there in the air conditioned cool. Check out the Safari -- tha animals look almost real!!!!
That one almost had me in tears!!!!!!!!

Too funny!

BTW I didn't know there was a safari in AK. I thought that the only dark ride in AK was Primeval Whirl!

I love HM and Frosted Flakes!

Did you know that now there is a version of Mission Space where you don't actually go into space. Too many people complained of motion sickness and death from re entry into the earths atmosphere in the original attraction. Now there is a line where you don't leave the earth.

Mission to Mars was changed to Alien Encounter because too many people exited the ride before returning to earth thereby become citizens of Mars, they felt it was better to risk death, than to stay for the entirety of that lame attraction.

Also there is a new line for Test Track that instead of the crash test doors opening to the outside track, they stay shut and slam you into the wall! Cool Huh!

:sad2:

Did you know "Grim, Grinning Ghosts" starts out as a waltz and then changes to standard 4/4 time?

Listen for yourself!

Just because I love you guys.
And I've finally come to grips with the reality that this damn thread will NEVER FRIGGIN DIE!!!!!!!

Actually, it starts in 4/4... and changes to a Waltz in the ballroom... then goes back to 4/4.

The reason is they hired a very well-known organist to perform the organ tracks when they designed the ride.

They allowed him to just "scat" with the tune and do anything "wild" he wanted to while they rolled the tape-recorder. Then, they just edited to include only what they chose for use in the ride.

There are some good "outtakes" of this session on the HM 30th Annniversary CD.

What about the tiki birds? Gotta be some familiar voices in that one! Thurl Ravenscroft (Tony the Tiger) had to play one of them? That guy was so amazing!

Did you know that the Mexican children that sing that wonderful La La song in El Rio Del Tempo, were forced child laborers and illegal immigrants. Marc Davis kept them in his basement, and used them like oompa loompas to paint animation cells that were too small for adults to paint. When they grew up he dressed them like pirates and plied them with alcohol and put them in Pirates of the Caribean so no one would know the secret. :artist:

yeah -- like tromping onto the boards with a thread "warning" us that one is the king of HM while stating....

The CMs need to still be reminded to not keep the dust and cobwebs after 20 some years This was on a travel channel special and granted i did just throwback that info

That 999 ghosts is used because it is 666 upside down (read The DaVinci Code, he says -- I suppose that is what Walt told the Imagineers as well). Walt was a member of a secret society and he knew what is called "the truth" I thought it very posiible and that was just a wild guess. Also I said that the 999 leaves us that famous line. "Any Volunteers?"

That there are 26 Doombuggies (can you imagine the lines?)

That the 1,000th ghost is some dead little boy or something This story is true

That the building is designed to be late 1600s, early 1700s (nope -- early 1800s) The Ghost Gallery a sight made by CM's said the HM was 1671.

All the while constantly bumping the thread to keep it on page one (oops, I guess I am doing that as well)

And then getting mad when he is challenged...

Look at the above thread and please read.

Wolf you're a funny dude!

I hope you know that we all love you!

Yes. Thurl plays the bird named Fritz, with the German Accent.

He was also recorded in the new "Under new Mgt." version of Tiki to sing the (very funny) new line (paraphrased), But... we've done this same show, since 1963..."

Sadly, it turned out to be one of his final recordings for Disney.

Thurl is also the BIG voice for a BIG guy...
Buff, the buffalo (HEAD) on the wall in the Country Bear Jamboree.

I just spoke to Madame Leota and she says Wolf is now officially the Haunted Mansion King. She also said we all need to get jobs so we don't have time to post here anymore. I don't know if anyone will defy Madame Leota . . .

Sonno- This thread won't die? Just imagine how the ghosts feel!

I am so upset right now. I have been reading Sonno's special effects thread which is really cool. :thumbsup2 And people are listening to his/her advice, they are not accusing him/her of plageurism, and they are saying THANK YOU when they get their questions answered. All my thread has been full of is flames, accusations, and people personally insulting me. :( The only person yet to say thank you for me answering their question is JustLikeTink.

Listen I want to thank you.... Even though you did not answer a question for me nor did I ask one, I got to give you a lot of credit you do know your stuff.... The story, facts everything but I think I speak for a lot of Dis'ers when I say that this thread needs to die!

Wolf,

Lots of people said they loved you, you made them laugh, etc. Your unabashed enthusiasm brought a little ribbing, but no worries!

I appreciate your enthusiasm for the ride and your willingness to share and I don't want you to lose either quality, so here are a few questions.

1. Is the stretching room ceiling moving up, or is the floor moving down?

2. Why is the hearse carriage with roses sometimes there and sometimes not?

3. Why did they get rid of Fastpass?

4. Do they do anything unusual there for Halloween?

5. Do you know where the Hidden Mickeys and Hidden Donald are?

6. Who's the Bride with the Beating Heart and how did she die?

1. Is the stretching room ceiling moving up, or is the floor moving down? In WDW the rooms ceiling moves upward and it is made of tight scrim so that when the lights go out you can see the hanging corpse. DLR makes the floor go down because it is an elevator that takes you below the train tracks to the dombuggies loading area.

2. Why is the hearse carriage with roses sometimes there and sometimes not? The horseless hearse is always there it is located near the enter/exit queue but since there are two lines it possible that you pass it with an obstructed view.

3. Why did they get rid of Fastpass? The HM does not really need a fastpass bc it is a continuous kind of ride just like POC since the doombuggies are constantly moving.

4. Do they do anything unusual there for Halloween? At DLR they do the HMH (Haunted Mansion holiday) in which the HM is made over or Tim Burton's NBC(nightmare before christmas).

5. Do you know where the Hidden Mickeys and Hidden Donald are? There are two officially acknowledged hidden mickeys (and I found the third!) the first is in the ballroom there is a large plate with two smaller plates at the top making perfect mickey ears. And the last one is a bit more tricky to explain. In the end of the graveyard scene you will see a grim reaper holding its arm up in the perfect shape of the mickey ears. The hidden donald is seen in various chairs and shows an abstract but visible Donald Duck.
6. Who's the Bride with the Beating Heart and how did she die? The bride in the attic is known as the "illuminating bride" no one knows for sure how she died but there are theories on fan sites and i have a theory posted in my story.

PM me if you want to know where the third hidden mickey is!
