No, it was a couple of nights. They put up the back walls up Monday night and the rest up Tuesday night.

Headed to WDW tomorrow for a week... I'm weirdly excited to see the Hat come down. I never felt any strong feelings towards or against it, but progress is progress, especially as far as DHS goes!

I'll be there next weekend and I was really hoping the hat would be gone by then. I don't think I hate it quite as much as the Epcot wand but it's a pretty close second.

It's a huge steel frame structure, as tall as a 12-story building.

I don't know if it's bolted or welded together (or some combination of the two), but breaking it down and hauling it off will be a big job.

Any speculation as to whether there will be another park icon for dhs? I realize that spot was needed for other plans. Makes sense to remove it, and I'm not sad to see it go. However, it would surprise me not to have some sort of icon to give the park an identity. Then again maybe that is appropriate

I was at Publix the other day and the cashier told me that her sister's boyfriend is a WDW bus driver and he told her that they are moving Spaceship Earth to DHS and redesigning it as the Death Star! We should have Star Wars Land by Summer.

I heard that too and they will be moving Space Mountain to Epcot to become its icon.

Wizard hat to the newly constructed hub at mk, and the castle relocated to the opening at Epcot, making it part of the city of tomorrow complete with solar power and energy efficient upgrades. Showing that even a drafty old castle can be made energy efficient. It will also allow those folks who win a night in the castle an opportunity to drinking around the world.

Just the gold ribbon type stuff under the hat has been started to be removed. I was there this morning. Today was the WDW marathon I would expect things to go much faster now that, that is over.

As I won't really miss it but it will be Different to see the area with nothing there. But a better view of the Chinese Theater. I am sooooooooooo hoping it is NOT anything to do with Frozen Sorry just so not a Frozen fan
