Alienation is defined as the act of alienating or the condition of being alienated. There are two specific forms of alienation: external and internal. External alienation occurs when one is ‘othered’ from society due to their ethnicity or personality. Internal alienation is the act of one choosing to ‘other’ themselves from society as a means of self protection. In the novels, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon and The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, both protagonists experience one or more forms of alienation. First, in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, Christopher, an individual with autism and a very logical thinker, is alienated from society due to the language society uses to communicate with each other. In the novel The Catcher in the Rye, Holden chooses to internally alienate himself from society as a means of protecting himself from being externally alienated. Finally, when both characters have the opportunity to interact with a person in society, they are further alienated because of the way they act and talk. Therefore, in both novels, the protagonists experience one or more forms of alienation in their respective societies resulting in underdeveloped communication skills and failed relationships.

I don't play GH that much anymore cause it's on my PS2 and I haven't got the lag down...and my GH1 controller broke and I liked it so much more than my GH3 one. Anyways, I have almost 300 songs on Rock Band, how can I get bored with that?
