It's not that weird.
A bunch of words start with sf.
There's [FONT=VERDANA, GENEVA, HELVETICA][FONT=VERDANA, GENEVA, HELVETICA][SIZE=-1]sfalsare, sfogo, sfuso, sfarzo, and sfumato.
And not just in Italian too, in English theres sforzandi.
