On/ after 9/11, I got quite aggrivated about the constant news coverage on all channels. Maybe, I am wrong about this and clearly, I am putting my own shallow desires first, but I think sometimes you DO have to look out for yourself.

I think that with 3 or 4 24 hour cable news networks, this should be enough 100% total 24 hour coverage. And as far as the major networks go (ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX) cant they have a 1o minute update every half hour, instead of total television saturation? I agree that there is nothing more important going on right now, but I dont think that repeating the same information and video clips constantly is going to do anybody any good. Surely the networks can fit a lot of info into an update twice an hour, and allow regularly scheduled programming to continue. This constatnt over saturation is bringing my paranoia to a whole new level:eek:

Am I insane, or would we actually be better off not having 24 hour coverage on EVERY channel?

I am more at ease when I know what is happening. Maybe you could put in a video, take a walk, or just turn it off.

I agree with you -- everyone needs at least one outlet for some escapism. Wanting to keep up-to-date with things is one thing, not being able to avoid coverage is a little different.

I guess you could find a good book to read?

Sweetness, I feel exactly the same way you do, but not much we can do about it, you know?

I have cable and tons of stations to watch that aren't covering it. I can't watch at all. Too horrifying. To me it's like watching a violent action film except it's real. I can't even watch those when they're Hollywood produced.

I'm not worried about missing my soaps. The same person will be dying, cheating, divorcing, and pregnant next week as this week. ;)

I am having that same sense of deep and utter hopelessness I had after 9/11. I don't think I'll be over this for a long time....

Hang in there!

What gets me is the very little that is happening, but they spend four hours talking and speculating about it.
