The guide book was wrong!

We went to Border's today to get my daughter the Birnbaum's Guide for Kids since I have officially put her in charge of the planning for our trip this summer. (I have several books but in her words "there's just not enough pictures!") I picked up a book I hadn't seen before called "The Everything Family Guide to the WDW Resort" written by Jason Rich. As I was thumbing through it I saw a gray box that stated something to the effect of "If you stay onsite you can use any amenities at the other resorts." Then he goes on to give a specific example of if you are staying at All Star Movies you can use the pool at the Yacht and Beach Club!

Now, I know this is wrong! (In fact, I posted another thread earlier trying to find out the exact rules) but I know you cannot LEGALLY swim at another resorts pool. I wish I could write the author or something and tell him...not that he'd listen to me

However, this could be a reason why some people truthfully don't know they are breaking a rule. (some, not all)

WOW!! That is horrible to publish something like that. I know I might get flamed for saying this, but please don't. I especially can't believe he would say jumping from AS (about 70-80 a night) to Yacht and Beach Club (a lot more than 70-80 a night). That isn't fair to those at the Yacht and Beach Club. I could see MAYBE saying you could go from ASMo to ASMu, but to jump to completely different levels of hotels? (that was the part I think I will be flamed over) HELLOOOOO!!! There IS a reason for the difference in prices!!! And for the record, we always stay at AS or POP, and would never dream of using another resorts pool, even another AS's pool.

I went to Boarders & got all the WDW Guide Books & started Thumbing throught them so many had wrong info. I told DH I know more then some of the books.

This book has been reviewed before and it has several errros.

And just to save anyone else the money.. AVOID Disney On A Dime.... The biggest waste of money yet..

Amoung it's money saving suggestions... if your stay starts a few days after value season ends, just book it to begin early... They seem to think that when you arrive a few days later Disney will just have kept your room waiting for you and you will pay for the "days you missed' and get to keep the rate all the way through your stay. NO! When you don't show up, Disney keeps your deposit puts you down as a no show and rents the room. Then when you do waltz in a few days late you get the walk up rate....

(And of course they spend pages on menus to eat in the room. I bet they were the first folks ever to realize you could make sandwiches to save money, aren't they smart? )
