Just got our room assignment and got upgraded from 5E to 5C. I was starting to look forward to that aft veranda so I am a little disappointed. But whatever the room I know we will have fun. =)

Which ship and when are you sailing? Still waiting for an assignment here...just curious when your trip is!

Booked the Dream double dip for August 19-24 last week. Booked IGTY and am anxiously awaiting room assignment! We have always had inside cabins, so are just fine with whatever, but would love a little pixie dust! I was told we should get assigned 2 weeks out...that would be next week.

We are currently 5E GTY. I am actually hoping we stay 5E because of the location/veranda, but will have fun no matter what cabin we end up with.

That is the same thing I was hoping for. Hope it works for you. I feel the same that no matter what it is guaranteed fun because you are on a Disney cruise. When is your cruise?

We are sailing on the Disney Dream Aug. 24-29 with the double dip to CC. From what I've read I thought I might have to wait another week to hear anything so I guess I got lucky!

Nope - those rooms are NOT smaller. 8186 is a beautifully nice Cat 5E; you are thinking of the 4E rooms on deck 5 have smaller rooms with large verandas. We adore those aft rooms - those verandas are huge.

A note about the verandah & your 3 year old. The way the aft rooms are constructed, the railing is curved inward. I'll bet your child can stand under it even (our 5 year old can). Also, I don't know where that seasick stuff comes from - I think the ships motion is similar all over......if he's going to get sick, he's going to get sick (and I hope he doesn't!!!).

Ok...can someone help ? I am getting a tad excited after seeing these 5E big verandah photos. So I checked my cruise (Sept 29). There is 5E available. If I can get a hold of my TA, looks like it would only cost us $150 extra to go from 6B to 5E. I would like to take a gamble at getting one of those rooms. I also see many of the 5E's are the exact same size as the 6B and some have "whitewall" verandah----which my 6B is definitely. So for $150 I'm thinking I might stand a better chance of 1) getting large verandah or 2) getting clear plexi verandah. With my 6B I know I could possibly get an upgrade. Any thoughts from anyone ?

Hmmm....you are talking Dream/Fantasy, right? If that's the case, there are no true whitewall verandahs on them. The whitewall goes up to about shin/knee length or so.

I'd go for the 5E for $150 - what room is available?

I got my 11C assignment tonight, at 59 days out. We were given an 11B on deck 6. Love the location! Not quite the upgrade I got the first time I booked an category 10 GTY and was given a category 7, but I am still please with this assignment.

Silverfox.....my TA just called, they are having a tad trouble with their computer system. She's going to call back in 15 min. But she said the 5E's all have whitewall verandah like the 6B's do ? I'm thinking she might not be 100% correct on this ???? Still waiting to hear if I can get the 5E GTY......

She's wrong - I promise Evidence is proven by all of the pics of the stateroom verandahs (including ours on the previous page). MJ (mmouse37 the moderator) has said this many times.

I just bumped up the "Dream special rooms thread" - post one on the 1st page has a pic of the aft verandahs - you can see the whitewalls, but you can see the workers standing on them to see how far up that whitewall comes. One note, the cats listed under the room numbers are incorrect as those rooms have since been classified. You should send that pic to your TA LOL.....
