I have a really bad back and at most hotles I can't even sleep in there beds, and alot of times bring along an airmatress. I have stayed at Pop twice, and so far had wonderful matresses. I have also heard if it is really bad you can call and they will either change your room or bring in a new mattress.

Hi Jen,
I have a really bad back as well. I have stayed at Pop twice, and been fortunate to have really good mattresses as well. But thanks for the info regarding bad mattresses. Good to know!

Blessings,
Winnie

As you walk int othe parks they have them all around. Just ask to be pointed to them if you can't find them. Each park has it's own info. I would pick one up each morning. It had show times, and character meet and greets and parade info, etc.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm looking for! :thumbsup2 I just liked to pick them up at the POP bus stop. That way we could change our plans if necessary to add any changes to show times, characters, etc. during the ride to the parks. I'm still hoping if they don't have them outside, maybe I can pick them up at the FD.

Thanx for your help everybody!

I have never seen a table, but the concierge desk will have all of the park schedules for shows as far as I remember. You may even get one in your welcome packet at check in. Have a magical trip!

If I remember correctly the one you get in your welcome package and the ones they have at concierge is all 4 parks on one sheet. The ones you get at the parks are more detailed.

Thats how it was for us too. The ones at the parks had much more info in it.

I was there the last two Marches and never saw it. So maybe it depends how busy they area?

I am thinking of next March! Can you fill me in on wether and crowds! It is my birthday month and I wanted to be a solo birthday girl ( Well old lady!:rotfl2: )

We went the same week for the last two years. I think one trip started one the 4th and one on the 5th? I would have to check to be sure though. Both times arrived on a Sunday and first trip stayed till Thurs, and second till Friday.
The first trip (2007) was really crowded, I thought. Seemed like of people everywhere and waits were long. We did the most on The Sunday night at Mk with EMH.
This past year was alot less busy. I don't know if Easter being early had anything to do with it or what. We got our flights for just over $100 each there and if we waited one more week they went up to over 300. Some things still had long wait times, but on average, everything went pretty fast.Or we got on in about half the time the wait sign suggested. Again we did the EMH at night on Sunday and rode alot then too.

I'm travelling to WDW in Nov 2008 with my wife and 5yr old daughter. We live in the UK and will be there for three weeks. This will be my 7th trip, My wifes 6th and my daughters 4th. We have never stayed on site before and we are considering the Pop Centyury Resort.
Our flights are already booked and we are very close to booking the hotel. Why should we choose Pop over a cheaper off site hotel that would leave more money in my pocket????

Congrats on making it back to the World! :goodvibes

I'm sure you'll get varied responses, so I'll leave my comments around transportation.

If you stay off property, you'll need to rent a vehicle and pay to park the automobile at each park each day you go. So make sure you include the cost of car rental and parking to your budget as you look at overall costs.

Along those same lines, after a long thrilling day at the parks, I really don't want to go get the car and drive in traffic. At Pop Century Resorts, they have buses that do not stop at any other resort nor any other stop on Pop's property. So all buses go directly to its destination. Personally, I think in the end, you have a shorter day by staying on property and taking advantage of the free transportation. You even get free transportation from the airport to your WDW resort. :thumbsup2

Enjoy your vacation, wherever you choose to stay!!

I second the transportation reasons,it is so nice to leave the driving to Disney! Also by staying on site you can take advantage of EMH at the parks and of course the DDP!!I wouldn't stay of site I love the feeling of Disney that Pop has . Check out the Pop pix thread, you'll see !!

When staying on property, you get to take advantage of EMH.
You won't really need a car, and you'll even get transportation to/from the airport.
If you're going to rent a car, staying onsite gets you free parking at the parks.
You get Disney Magic at your resort, as well as at the park.
Pop has frozen Cokes!

If you can save a large amount off site, you should weigh the trade offs.
If off site only saves you a few hundred dollars, I would choose Pop.

We have a cancellation in our swap. Although the fridge is temporarily misplaced it should be found or replaced soon (fingers crossed):worship:
If you are going to Pop between August 19 and 30 and would like to partake in a FREE large fridge, toaster and COFFEE MAKER, please pm jakesmom1, the organizer, or reply to the link in my signature.

I have looked at off site resorts and stayed at some in yearspast. Most do not cost much less than staying on property and those that do are either farther away or not very nice. At his point I wil lnever stay off site agin, unless alot of our vaction is doing other Orlando stuff. Our trip in 2007, we flew into Sandford airport and we had to rent a car. That car sat the whole time and I think it was such a waste of money, but DH wanted to fly from our small local airpert, but when it came down to it, it really never saved us any money going that route. this year I jsut booked from t he alrger airport (Detroit) and the flights were much cheaper, and we had free transportation our whole trip at Disney then. It wasn't any more of a hassle to go a bit further in my opinion. And DH was amazed hwo we didn;t have to go seraching for our luggage and got right on a bus and offf we went. We checked in, changed clothes and were off to MK with in an 1 1/2 from landing.
We also did the dining plan, which to us is wonderful.

I'm convinced.
Just booked online for 3 weeks in Pop Nov 3-24.
Can't get the smile off my face.

There was no facility on the UK Disney website to make any specific requests regarding the location of our room, excecpt for preferred on non. Is there a way of contacting the resort direct to make a request prior to our arrival?
Has anyone done this and was the request granted? We like the look of the 60's & 50's buildings.

Hmmm...is there a way to call central booking directly from the UK now? They take reservation room requests. Otherwise, many people fax the resort directly. Info on contacting the resort should be in post #1 of this thread.

Congrats on the three weeks! You won't regret it. :wizard:

Congratulations, Andrew!!! :cool1: That is so exciting to get away to The World for that period of time! Well worth the long flight over the pond!

I agree with DisneyMom5. Although there will be an expene on your end, I would call them directly. Also, have you inquired on the UK Planning Forum? Someone over there may have a "secret" number to use from the UK or another suggestion other than what we're providing you with. ;)

I always go thru AAA and the TA puts my requests on the ressie, maybe there's an email address to Pop and you could email it ! I know people fax requests a few days prior to arriving but that is usually to confirm original requests. One tip Buy the refillable mugs for about $14 you would get free refills at the soda fountain for the length of your stay, the drinks include pop, frozen coke and cherry, apple juice, lemonade , coffee , tea and hot chocolate. at Pop Century, well worth the money!!
