Thanks for the help! Just to make sure I understand, you can charge back to the room without putting a card on file first? Thanks.

Oh, sorry for the confusion! Cash would need to be put on the account if not a card. They only authorize the card for $1.00.:thumbsup2

We booked POP for Dec 11-18. This will be our first time in December. How are the crowds during this time?

Crowds are pretty good up until Christmas week which you will miss so no issue for you there. The busiest park was the MK esp. on Sun and Mon. So if you can avoid MK on these days. Otherwise we were able to do everything we wanted without much of a wait time at all.
The weather is usually great as well. You may have some cooler days though so pack for both warm and cool-cold weather. Last year I understand it got cold enough to need winter coats even. When we went we only had a couple of cool days but only cold enough to need a sweater and light jacket at night. It is esp. needed if you are going to be by the water for illuminations or an evening boat ride. We were able to swim a couple of days as well. Dec. is our favorite time of year to be at Disney and we have been in April and Sept. as well. This year we will be there at the end of Oct. into Nov. for a grand gathering with my husband's side of the family. Otherwise we would have chosen to go back in Dec. this year as well but not everyone could get off work to go then. Also as it is cold/flu season be prepared with some cold/flu meds. just in case as meds. at disney is very very expensive. We learnt this from experience. The one time we forgot to pack meds. we ended up getting sick and having to buy it from the resort. It was around 8.00 for a small box of Tylenol that would only last one person a day or two.

Enjoy your trip. Christmas is the best time to be at Disney imo.

I have never put my c.c on the KTTW card !!I prefer to use my card myself !! I have not been overly impressed with on line check in. The last time I did it I waited 3 x as long as people in the regular line !!I will take my chances this time !!

Why would they authorize the card for one dollar?

Last trip I didn't put and CC attached to my KTTW card and the trip before I had them authorize $100 so I could get internet access

I'm super duper excited! DH just told me to book an extra night, so we are now there for 9 nights!!!

I decided to take a spur of the moment trip with my DD (5) before she starts kindergarten. I have ALWAYS stayed at POP. I checked the prices and then booked my airfare. Within 15 minutes of checking the prices, POP is sold out. The only other value that is available is Movies. I'm so bummed - and I know I should be happy that I'll be in Disney - but I really want to stay at POP. Think there is ANYTHING I can do?:confused3

That happened to us once. Online with Disney POP was sold out. I contacted AAA Travel and they could book it. I think Disney always give AAA a block of rooms.

So give it a try.

Back to the KTTW card and backing it up with your credit card/debit discussion. I hate to put so much cash on my KTTW card but we have a few TS meals booked that we're paying OOP for and we like to use our KTTW card for snacks, tips...etc. So, how do you handle that if you end up putting cash on the card? $500.00 at a time? I don't know....I'd hate to lose my KTTW card and lose all that cash....it's much easier to contact a credit card and deny any unauthorized charges.

I would hold Movies (which I understand is being refurbed so you could request a new room.) I would also check your airline as airlines often have blocks of rooms and the other place I've heard good things about is www.lastminutetravel.com - although it doesn't give you the name of the resort, if you read down you can easily tell which resort it is by the description of the gift shop and food court - it is usually by name. I would check for you, but do not know your dates. You can check any airline b/c you can usually book a hotel without buying airfare - though they usually return those to Disney 14 to 30 days out.Good luck!!:goodvibes (I tried some dates for the heck of it and POP did come up for August 13-16 by name...$126 a ngt though!)

I've never put money on the account, but many times have told them we did not want to use charging. Can only assume you can give them a cash amount and that would be your charge limit until you add more.:thumbsup2

Does anyone know if they do Characatures at Pop? I remember them doing it at all-star movies 3 years ago.

Yes they do! We just had one done of our daughter in July. He was located in the lobby outside of the gift shop. The guy who did ours was very good!

Thank you! I am calling AAA now. I am heading down 8/31 - 9/4. Just a quick weekend trip.
